Re: Permanent Speed Restrictions
Not sure what era you're modelling but during my time on the railways it was always a given that if a crossover was unmarked then it was 15mph max. Thanks for replying. I'm attempting to model the late BR Blue/early sectorisation era. I thought that might be the case for crossovers. The vast majori...

Re: Permanent Speed Restrictions
A very good suggestion and it's one of the first things that I looked at. YouTube is full of cab ride videos along the route but of all the one's I've found so far they are of more recent times.slenderman7676 wrote:If you can find one from the time period try and find a cab ride video/film of the route in question.

Permanent Speed Restrictions
I'm after a bit of advice from those in the know please? I'm attempting to model a prototypical route in a particular time period and the issue of signage has me stumpped. There is a very long stretch of four track mainline consisting of up and down slow and up and down fast with a branch merging on...

Train Drivers Hours
I've just read an article that states that a major franchise relies on drivers working overtime to cover 400 of it's services each week. A question I have about this is are train drivers governed by drivers hours in the same way as HGV and PCV drivers are? I have previously been an HGV driver and th...

Welcome LandYRailwayMan, a fellow Lancastrian.
I'm guessing you are from somewhere around Barlick way? I myself am a bit further down the east Lancs.

Re: Blender VS 3DS Max
I think you should be ok for a while yet. The wife's 3DS MAX student license was due to expire when she graduated in 2018 and it's still going strong. It's the university's responsibility to inform Autodesk that you are no longer a student and most have a tendency to forget.

Re: DEM request
I thought I'd dig out TransDEM again after reading this thread. I've managed to use the LIDAR DTM data but I can't crack a detailed overlay like in the post above (either aerial or map). I go to Rastor Map > Map Tile Servers and use MS Bing as map source (Google orthophoto doesn't seem to work). I ...

Scenery Assets Randomly Switching Layers
I've posted this in the N3V forum first but I thought it might be a good idea to post here as well. I've been using T:ANE since release and up to now I haven't had any issues with it. I recently upgraded to SP2 Build 88364 and started a new route and have come across something which is a real show ...
