Re: Eurostar
Current progress on the MS car. Textures are finished as far as I am concerned, however I have yet to properly set up the material for exporting. Looking good. That's a very impressive interior. You've also done a much better job of the power car's nose than the otherwise excellent La France en Tra...

Re: Train Drivers Hours
Train drivers' hours are very much regulated. Although the extra working's described as "overtime", it's not at all spontaneous; it's planned into rotas in advance and all the driving hours restrictions have to be adhered to. This Twitter thread goes into more detail, but in short it's sui...

Re: Mk4's now in IC Swallow
From a post on the WNXX forum : LNER have used the Freedom Of Information website to release the new 225 livery specifications guide as a pdf :D Railway modellers everywhere will be thinking Christmas has come early! I'm still torn by the maroon stripe. It adapts a classic livery nicely for the LNE...

Re: Is this a handsome loco or what?
I bet all this is is just a continental loco but with UK safety systems fitted, MPH speedo and the body made a bit more skinnier to fit the UK loading gauge. It is indeed; it's derived from the Stadler Euro Dual. That means it's a cousin of Classes 88 and 93; I wonder why they didn't use the same c...

Re: Class 101 (And others) Project Thread.
James is right - should be whole numbers between 0 and 255. For some reason, GIMP presents them as decimals! Paul Hi Paul. That's very odd. I've only used GIMP briefly but I had no idea it did that. I'm a long-time Paint Shop Pro guy (v5, v6, v9, 2018) and have been since 1998, and it always shows ...

Re: AI trains ignoring the "Set Max Speed to" command.
I should also note that in the session is also the "MaxPermittedSpeed" rule which sets a top speed based on that of the stock in the train. Does this conflict with the driver command hence resulting in the driver ignoring the commands? This is exactly it. Under the hood, both the "Se...

Re: HST Enginespec
Although I suspect a lot of this is beyond Trainz's ability to simulate, here's what chapter 4 "In the driver's seat", which "recounts the reminiscences of a driver working for First Great Western from 2002 until 2006", of the Inter-City 125 Owners' Workshop Manual (Ed. Chris Mar...

Re: Some advice please-where to start?
Welcome, Brian! 1. I haven't downloaded anything yet so the first question is which version? (Cost isn't an issue as I sold my railway for several thousand pounds.) If you haven't yet bought Trainz, I'd hold your fire until next week: there are bound to be Black Friday/20th Anniversary deals. You sh...

Re: upgrading versions
I am wondering if there's a quick way to upgrade from T:ANE to TRS2019 while keeping all the assets you already have installed under T:ANE? I just bought TRS2019 but I don't want to risk losing assets like I have had happen before There's no way to automatically move your content from TANE to TRS19...

Re: Central Scotland - Edinburgh - Glasgow - Dunblane
I can't remember if I've asked before or not, but given the apparent improvements to Surveyor 2 in TRS19, I'm pondering whether or not to continue this route in TANE or to transfer the whole thing to TRS19. I'm imagining there are several time saving features in Surveyor 2 and TRS19 (TurfFX) and I ...

Re: Rails not allowing trains to be placed (SP4)
Does the track have OHLE or some other non-track spline near it? I find sometimes Trainz decides that I'm trying to place whatever I'm placing (usually a trackside object; I don't remember getting it with trains) on the scenery spline instead of the track spline and complains that it's incompatible ...
