Re: Interesting Potential Commission

Thanks for the support Dave. The thought of it is scary, but manageable. Never 100% true to real life (as with anything in any game!) but since it’s so tedious and confusing as to what goes where I’m sure people wouldn’t mind as you say.

Re: Bye Bye Pacers!

In the event that they won’t be stored and will be handled via the other alternative (ahem) I wouldn’t mind a pair of their horns to keep :D . Only for the reason they were fitted with the same air horns that were on the later Class 25s.

Interesting Potential Commission

Hi all just floating an idea out there - how much might I expect to pay someone, if I would like them to lay catenary for me on a stretch of a route? Suppose 15 miles give or take. I know there are absolute experts on catenary here, and if I were to take a guess as to how to properly lay it it would...

89001 'Badger' power testing

Not sure it's been mentioned but it would certainly fit the era that this group is interested in - but 89001 Avocet has finally been taken to Soho TMD for a series of power testing after half a decade of restoration. A lot of electrical work was carried out, and it certainly looks smart in its origi...

Re: LSL Blue Pullman HST

Looks okay compared to other modern livieries IMO. But it's a matter of beggars can't be choosers - far too close to (admittedly gorgeous) electric blue!

Re: What do we need more of?

Personally I would like to see more stations and accessories that fit the newly-electrified WCML around the 1960s. Although I understand that's a small niche - people tend to favor full-on steam era or full-on BR Rail Blue era, with little regard for inbetween. I'd made a station sign and that's abo...

Re: Class 158 Info

Wow, that looks amazing!

As does the route - is it a WIP, if I may ask? The route looks detailed like something that may be out of DTG's train sim, if that makes sense.

Re: west coast mainline

Good to see my 501s have found a route to be at home on ... This route would serve as a home for a lot of stock, potentially encompassing all four main (five, if we want to consider a 'theoretical' extension to Manchester in the 60s, with 1500V DC Woodhead electrics :D ) types of traction, spanning...

Re: Cabs with native AWS

I'd have to check but does the updated 37 cab not have it? Will confirm later. It'll be good to see an update to the HUD version. It certainly helps add a bit of depth to the in cab experience. One suggestion I have for consideration is as well as a traditional bell and buzzer version as currently ...

Hi Macneil,

The route looks great so far! Lot of hard work, looks like it.

Cabs with native AWS

It’s a copy-paste from my N3V forum post, but feel free to reply here as well! — Could anyone point me to some UK locos with cabs that have AWS fitted properly (with their own Soundscripts, ‘sunflower’ indicator’, etc.)? The only one I’m finding is the Deltic cab from 2014. Reason I ask is because I...

Re: 20/04 - April 2020 Screenshots

Sorry - very clearly a mockup diorama type of shot from me! No real PW items or proper catenary but a scene very loosely based on a couple 60s shots of outer Leighton Buzzard. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49770267123_b2c2916703_b.jpg WCML 2 by Ron Hessar , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr....

Re: AWS Ramps - Beta Testers?

I'm aware that all of these assets face have been oriented wrong way round in Blender so I'll need to correct that! This causes the 'AWS Ramp' and Bidirectional single-signal ramp to trigger the warning horn for green signals.

AWS Ramps - Beta Testers?

Hi all, I hope you and your families are doing well in this time, a really strange time to be alive. Assuming everyone is "locked-in" and bored around the house, I've been trying to make the most of the time to distract myself from the situation by working on content. I took a couple days ...

Re: AC Electrics - operation questions

Even the 86s were guilty of rough riding - that is until the Flexicoil spring bogies came into play :D . Apparently the 82 had a reputation for being the best riding out of all the early classes, which I assume is due to its underframe being built separate from the body, rather than the more convent...
