Re: First Class 365s Off For Scrap!

Yeah, I can see how it makes sense to do away with them, it just hits differently knowing there are Mk3 and even PEP-derived EMUs still knocking about, and that the decrepit old 465s outlasted them. Last time I went on a 465 I could have sworn the last time it was cleaned NSE still existed... They'r...

Re: First Class 365s Off For Scrap!

Oof, that just feels wrong somehow, used to ride those to/from school, until I started taking a later train, which was always a 317...

Especially with things like 313s and 319s still knocking about, seems like a waste, but I'm sure it makes sense from a logistical point of view

Re: Rails not allowing trains to be placed (SP4)

Does the track have OHLE or some other non-track spline near it? I find sometimes Trainz decides that I'm trying to place whatever I'm placing (usually a trackside object; I don't remember getting it with trains) on the scenery spline instead of the track spline and complains that it's incompatible...

Re: 21/09 - September 2021 Screenshots

Back after a bit of a hiatus, having a little bit more of a tinker with my reworked version of eso's Park Lane: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51496220166_9271469388_b.jpg Similar to the 313 in BR blue, Southern repainted 2 class 477/1 units into pre-privatisation liveries. NSE liveried 477144 ...

Re: Platform Allocations

Thank you, that looks... detailed! I'll have a pore through it and see what information I can extract. I currently have both SWR services using P2, leaving P3 free for any impromptu services I feel like adding in the future.

Re: Youtube videos

Just to update, I've sent the 455 enginesounds to the DLS, they should be available shortly:

Re: Platform Allocations

From memory when I used to live near Chester, which at the time had 4 operators, (Arriva, Northern, Virgin and Merseyrail) the platforms are allocated per service, operational requirements or length of train the platform can accomodate rather than specifically by TOCs. However there was some consis...

Platform Allocations

Hi there, I have a small question about platform allocations for anyone with experience in such things, having sat down to build yet another AI session. In the interest of being prototypical, how are platforms allocated? Say I have a 3 platform terminus, with a 2+1tph service (2tph from SWR, 1tph fr...

Re: Youtube videos

No, I'd forgotten about Southern's 313s. I meant to use 455s as an example of EE motored stock and was saying I don't have recordings of EE or PEP stock, but while the PEPs have all been withdrawn, I might be able to record some 455s to get some EE sounds if they stick around long enough.

Re: Youtube videos

I'll try and get it polished up and uploaded to the DLS then. Unfortunately I don't. The classic EE and PEP-derived units are two big holes in my recording (not including the ones that turned out too low quality to use for Trainz), I never managed to get to a PEP before they were withdrawn, though i...

Re: A couple of TRS19 issues...

I was always cautioned to avoid doing an EDR unless absolutely out of other options. And not only because even a "quick" database repair would take over an hour on my SSD. THankfully that's something T:ANE improved on over TS12, a database repair went from several hours to about 15 minutes.

I did create my own, yes. I used paint.net, but Photoshop would work too. Just make sure it's a 32-bit tga without RLE compression.

Re: A couple of TRS19 issues...

Ah yes, that sounds like Trainz and its endless database shennanigans. Have you tried doing a database repair? That usually helps sort out assets that have inexplicably become faulty with no actual problems (though be prepared for a database repair to cause them to swithch over to "fully faulty...

Re: Class 477 Reskin Project

Apologies, I've just looked and those were clearly uploaded before I'd fixed them. Whoops! To fix it, in IM editor, you can open the mesh, and find whichever materials are flagged as having a missing diffuse texture (this is what causes the green, the green and white checkered pattern is Trainz's &q...
