Re: Trainz Paint Shed Question
This is probably because Paintshed has been discontinued after UTC(i think). Reskinning can now easily be done outside of paintshed.

Re: Trainz Paint Shed Question
There was a Paintshed for both 2004 & 2006, although the 2006 version was a non-runner so people would be told to use the 2004 version instead.squit13 wrote:This is probably because Paintshed has been discontinued after UTC(i think). Reskinning can now easily be done outside of paintshed.

It was never much good, as the templates supplied were very limited & better reskins could be done in 3rd party applications as Huccaby points out above.
Paintshop Pro & Photoshop are good, but they are pricey, Paint.Net & Gimp are both available for FREE & very good reskins can be done using them, but be aware
that reskinning takes practice to perfect & it's not everybody's 'Kettle of fish'.

Re: Trainz Paint Shed Question
Unfortunately i am not sure why but Paint, Gimp and Photoshoot can't open TGA files. According to this guide it said to save it as a TGA file.http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/inde ... n_an_Asset

You could use irfanview to save and open .tga files; then convert them to the relevant .jpg/.bmp that you need.fizzywizzy wrote:Unfortunately i am not sure why but Paint, Gimp and Photoshoot can't open TGA files. Re: Trainz Paint Shed Question
Personally i use the PAINT.NET program which is free.
http://www.getpaint.net/download.html
It doesn't "bleed" your texture colours into each other and you can convert the files into other forms.
