RAR Files

After having a bit of a tidy up on my PC this afternoon, I've discovered a folder containing a few trainz assets but they are showing as .rar files. When I offered them to T:ANE via CM it spat them out - incompatible file type, I think it said. Can anyone tell me if they will work with T:ANE and if so how can I import them?

Hi,
.rar files are a compressed file type, like a .zip file. You'll need a special tool, like 7Zip etc to open them. (.rar files are not opened with a standard Windows extractor)
I'd assume that you have some cdp files inside the compressed file.

Thank you for the advice Rowan. I'll have to download 7zip again, I got rid of it once, didn't like it much; but thank you anyway.

I'll be able to find out what I've got tucked away now I'd imagine they're just back ups of something downloaded long ago though.

There are other programs that will extract .rar files if you don't like 7zip. I use personally WinRar.
