Re: Trainz NEXT
Multiplayer is so popular that I've only ever seen 1 session come up since last year.........
And according to the forums it hardly ever works and when it does no one is there, so how the hell can N3V think there is any future in expanding it to online route "hacking." It's not going to create fantastic routes just a load more rubbish to add to the daily dose of crap routes uploaded to the DLS.
Unless there is a normal version of Trainz based on TANE that we can use as we do at present without any subscription, I won't be going any further than TANE either.
I might continue to use the DLS up until TANE is out of support or I might not, that depends on how Tony Hilliam deals with the confusion and disappointment he has created.

And just another spanner in the works.....
I know some people have a lifetime FCT. How would this effect them? Also, how does it effect a yearly FCT ticket once this new version comes out?
Regards.

Re: Trainz NEXT
Just getting content into and working with T:ANE is proving too time consuming for me - to the point where, I'm sorry to have to say, my time is more consumed with TS16. I think I'll pass on Trainz Next and just see what the next version of TS comes up with...

I have a life time FCT and expect N3V to stick to their agreement in that it will continue to work for unsupported versions such as TANE will become even if they ever go ahead with this NEXT stupidity. Actually it's more than paid for itself in the time that I've had it however that is not the point is it!
Still no response from Tony and his minions on the N3V forum, usually Tony is leaping in to defend his decisions even at weekends.

Re: Trainz NEXT
I sincerely hope that the users reaction to 'Next' will cause N3V to rethink their strategy, now what would be a good, face saving (for them), reason for their U turn be ?clam1952 wrote:...I think we've got N3V rattled though with the negative response as there hasn't been any of Tony Hilliam's justification posts yet!...

Re: Trainz NEXT
Market research, done properly and not in the playground indicates that a subscription online simulator game is doomed to failure?

Re: Trainz NEXT
Still no proper explanation of what they are actually planning doing. If it goes totally subscription that infers DRM is back again, it would seem they don't listen at all.

Re: Trainz NEXT
So if support for TS12 is ending this year, will that mean the DRM phone home will be disabled? That should mean no more data base checking each month, and at last a 95% working version of trains of which the only issue I have is the constant DBR check!
Someone please point it out why we needed to upgrade to T:AME again? All that I can see is 64bit version, and a bit quicker in performance. Graphic wise, not much difference expect draw distance!
Regards.

The T:ane CM isn't as good as the CM in TS12 either.

Re: Trainz NEXT
Here's a radical idea N3V - why don't you actually get a product 100% finished and working fully before you think about releasing another.
