Hello all,
As the title suggests, it was mentioned on with the old uk trainz forum or auran forums that some tried using a 3rd party disk defragmenter as a change from the default windows one which showed an improvement in the windows enviroment and within trainz. Can anyone recall the name of the software used please?

Would it be Defraggler? I download it after hearing about it on the UKTrainz forum.

Thanks for the quick reply Marky, it looks like that it is the software as I also recall it could also defrag specific files like with the trainz jarchives and such instead of the whole hdd.

Definitely go for Defraggler it's what I use and it will defrag whatever you tell it to, it's quicker than the Microsoft "thing" on a full drive defrag as well should you need one.

There is one by 'Auslogic' that I run, it's certainly better than the MS one.

I use Advanced System Care by ioBit. There's a whole host of PC care tools as part of a free package.

I use Vopt9 which is payware but is absoluteley fantastic. You can click on any square in the window and it will display what is occupying it.
This is an image of my TS2009 drive (!). My TS2010 drive has a lot less space
Whichever one you use, it should be used at least once a week on the Trainz drives to keep them running as good as new.
It can be got here http://www.vopt.com/

Many thanks for the replies. I have gone with Defraggler as its free and has had good reviews generally. although my main trainz pc is still dead atm with a no signal problem, I have tried it out on my eeepc (yep, I have got tc3 on my eee) and there is certainly made a noticeavle difference to both tc3 and windows preformance.
