Looking for a few trackside items

Post by Marky7890 »

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows where I could find something similar to the following:

1. A yellow flange lubricator which sits next to the track. Something similar to this:

2. A decent quality check rail track/spline, used on tight curves branch lines to minimise changes of the train derailing.

3. A small set of stairs used at depots to easily access the rolling stock. Something similar to this:

Thanks,
Mark

Mark, I've searched for a flange lubricator before and the only ones I've come across are US style ones which are no good.

As for an access stair, I created something approaching what you're after using 2 separate assets - platform carriage siding (kuid2:218467:37027:1) which is built in, and SG Shutz 2m Weiss/Rot (kuid:193038:100037) which is on the DLS. Another option for the fence is kDB fence pipe zebra Spline (kuid2:438196:1553:1) on the DLS. If you'd rather just use a pre-built platform, k m bridge-tech (kuid2:571870:3504:3) is a good option. I think it's built in.

The check rail I've used in the past is Rusty 1 Track (kuid:61119:38801) which is on the DLS. It's actually track so can be a bit tricky to lay. The alternative is the UK 3rd rail spline with LOD (kuid:45317:103700) though it isn't rusty which isn't ideal.

Cheers,
Innis

Thanks for those Innis,

I will test them out in a bit.

As for the flange lubricator, the only ones I could find were the US ones too. I may try and make one myself in gmax, should be fairly simple to make.

On the subject of trackside items I'm also looking for things to make my junctions look my realistic. Looking at prototype points i can see that there is orange pipes that lie in points. Does anyone names of these objects if they are on the DLS

I have one track on the DLS that comes pre fitted with a checkrail and its rusty ;)
NEX LO-POLY UK FB Checkrail Wood Pandrol
kuid:45317:105027
(Obviously no good if you wish to keep your existing style of track)

Orange piping :
UK orange under track cable pipe
kuid2:45317:103103:1
High visibility pixels must be worn when on or about the line !!

If you need images or measurements, I have access to a flange lubricator per your earlier post which is on a private line.

As they would say on Blue Peter, here's one I made earlier

I will probably upload it in the next few days.

As for the other assets "k m bridge-tech" seems a good fit for the depot stairs, and a 3rd rail would probably do for the check rail, or one of Dave's tracks.

Thanks everyone :D
