S&C from steam

Hi all. As it is the Christmas holidays I'd like to splash out on something for trainz, so it might as well be S&C since I don't have it yet.
I was wondering, as I don't own the steam version of trainz, if I bought it on steam, would it be possible to copy over the snc.ja file into the builtin folder of trainz 12 (providing I buy the trs12 version) and also put in the key, or since its from steam does it not come with a key and just straight install to trainz 12 steam version?

Some info on this would be very much appreciated.

The snc.ja method isn't likely to work as this was obsoleted in TS12 Service Pack 1 which both the Steam and the Trainz Store versions will be (not sure about other versions).

It's normally better to buy DLC from the same source that your version of Trainz is from to avoid potential issues.

Would you know of any places where I can obtain the DLC from, for Trainz 12 SP1, as I look around and they seem to be for T:ANE and TRS2019 now.

I think N3V were also allowing access to the TS12 version of SnC for those who purchased the T:ANE version but you may need to check with them before purchasing.
