When adding track, the default limit is automatically 40mph which ordinarily isn't an issue, it's easy enough to stick a PSR on a stretch of line. I've been wondering about yards however. Where there are a lot of sidings, it's easy to set the PSR for trains arriving but how about trains already in the sidings?
As an example, let's say there are six dead end sidings with a loco stabled near the buffers of each. Straight away the AI is told that the PSR for that yard is 40mph until it reaches a PSR that says otherwise, so I need to add the PSR near to the siding end, but there may be a number of locos in the siding where perhaps this is a TMD so some locos may be beyond the 1st PSR. As far as I'm aware, speed setting does not set the default for the track ahead until a loco passes over it. Is this the case and if so, is there any easy way to apply a blanket PSR to a yard without having to slap down speed setting triggers all over the place?
Apologies for the rambling explanation. I hope it makes sense.
Cheers,
Innis

Re: Default speed limits in sidings
There are a few "set speed limit" driver commands on the DLS. They would have to be applied to all affected locomotives individually. Would they work?

Re: Default speed limits in sidings
The way I usually do it is a couple of invisible speed limits at each end. So long as the siding isn't too long, the train will "sense" the upcoming speed limit and shouldn't go any faster

Re: Default speed limits in sidings
It's always invisible limits I use. In long sidings I've been using a few but I was just wondering if there was anyway to cover a yard more easily.

I do the same as mightyena, use invisible speed limits.

I use the built in Max Permitted Speed. However it only works until the next command in the list is achieved.
