FREE DLS Server

It's a Free Server, it has it's size limits, and they've run out of room. Auran as a company don't appear to have much money, and if they've had to spend some sureing up after cyclones and floods they're going to have rather done that than upgrade a free server which is a cost to them - don't forget at the end of the day they get NOTHING from the free DLS server. They pay for it, you guys download. It's full, and the whinging won't do anything. I bought a FCT when I saw I wouldn't be able to access it and it works absolutely fine.

Also, Warbo, if you press it 15 times to try and make a connection, you're making 15 connections instead of 1 - if the whole world is doing the same no wonder the bloody server is full...

I'm not making 15 connections as when i click the start button it doesn't make a connection as the server is full already. It's trying to catch it when there is a gap in the connections which can amount to quite a few button presses before i get a result.

Ok they're not strictly connections, but you have to attempt a connection for it to tell you the server is full, which is still traffic over the relevant bits of interweb for the servers. More traffic equals more failed connection attempts.

A simple analogy - how can you tell a doorbell is working without pushing it? The batteries may have run out already, but you can't check until you've tried.

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problems that i'm having.

I don't have a FCT and i've not been able to download a single asset since last Thursday. Usually i can get to download something late at night or early morning or when i get up before i go to work (6:30am) but nothing.

I am also suffering the same problem Warbro. the free dls is constantly full or if for 1 second there is a free slot, click the download link and sure enough, error 530 maximum connections reached message appears.

I might not be correct with this analogy but maybe it's because the darker nights are encroaching in the southern hemisphere ? Folks are less inclined to go out when it's dark .
Weekends will always be rough and not forgetting that it's school holidays at the moment so the amount of users is going to be high ?

They have been working on the DLS re the 2010 builtins, plus a large number of people will be downloading TS12 which is on the same server(s) that probably isn't helping at the moment.
