Browser incompatibility problem, about time TPR sorted it out. Easy to solve yourself though just go file > save page as > and it gives you a cdp extension.

Re: Cant download content from TrainzProRoutes
TPR does not "need to fix their system" - you need to fix yours. This is not a browser incompatability problem, it is a browser setup problem. Your browser needs to know what to do with the filetype "CDP".
This has been gone through many many many times before on the TPR forums and you would have saved yourself time and effort if you had bothered to search there first. That is what their forums are there for after all.
If your browser is Firefox then go to http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/set ... =inproduct .
For Internet Explorer try http://www.ehow.com/how_7632453_set-fil ... s-ie7.html
Other browsers should have something broadly similar, just google "how MYBROWSER handles different file types" replacing MYBROWSER with the name of your browser.

Thanks bird_d00,
I had the same problem not an hour ago. I knew what it was so 'Save link as...' worked fine but the tip on how to set it up to save the filetype automatically is a bonus!
cheers

Re: Cant download content from TrainzProRoutes
Changing the settings does not make any difference in Firefox 17, had to resort to the File>Save Page As...technique after the gobbledegook comes up.

Re: Cant download content from TrainzProRoutes
Firefox 17 is a big pile of doodoo, and should not have been released. It's more buggy than Micros#*t programs and has become real bloatware into the bargain. Probably released early because of the embarassment that was Firefox 16 (with a security hole so bad the downloads had to be pulled).

Re: Cant download content from TrainzProRoutes
No problems with FF17 here. Works exactly the same as all previous versions so long as you have it set up correctly in the first place, the default settings are dreadful.

Re: Cant download content from TrainzProRoutes
If you have a plain vanilla install you're probably all right. Most of the problems come because they have broken compatability with many of the commonly used add-ons and plug-ins.

My firefox works fine! I dont know why everyone is causing a fiasco about it.
I have had no bugs for ages and it is rare that i go on trainzproroutes.
