After a break from this route to try other projects (all of which are complete failures of trying to make a layout based on King's Lynn) Ive now got back into this route and hopefully move the route on to Hunstanton in the north, Dereham in the east, Sutton Bridge in the West and Ely in the south.

Hoping it all goes well as Im losing the will to continue with Trainz as everything I try goes wrong or looks awful

That reminds me, I was working on Ely five years ago. Something like this:

I wonder if it's worth revisiting?

That's very good Paul, I think its a good idea on what you are asking, on one of my webpages titled (Great Eastern linkups)

Some of the M&GN route will link up with Cromer High, North Walsham and Kings Lynn as a add on to the route. I will be investigating more during 2012 - 2013
:D. Because they are closes to the M&GN route.

The route is progressing nicely, as I am continuing very hard to work at it.

This is taking time so step by step and not rushing it.

I will be continuing it in October as I am dealing with the base maps to South Lynn and Alysham North to North Walsham Town. Before continuing.

And sorry for the delay. ;)

Ive been working on the King's Lynn/South Lynn part of this route but it has come to a complete stop as I have reached my limit with Trainz, Everything I try to build goes wrong or looks awful and I dont have the skills to make a decent looking route so Im tempted to give up on this all together.

Hi all, just popped in and seen this thread after a bit of a break. Funnily enough my post back in August about re-engaging with my old Ely layout started a whole 'train' of events, so to speak. I started acquiring a load of new pics of Ely from the 70s, which is the period I'd like to model, and amongst them came across this:

Image
Ely Station 1983 by Nich Y, on Flickr

So this got me thinking that I ought to create some of those signs and, a few weeks later, there are 101 such signs on the Download Station! I'm now working on some other BR 1970s style assets (posters, platform buildings) to try and recreate the classic station of that period.

However, this means I've been rather diverted from re-engaging with Ely, so that's gone onto a bit of a backburner again. :( But anyway, I did get inspiration from Ely so I'm sure I'll return to it again in the future.

:D I am doing well but like i said I am having a break until after my birthday I am doing it by base maps. a friend of my saying I am doing really well and i have never gave up.

But it is tricky with base maps because some maps are on the wonk being they are not straight.
I can see nothing is perfect when being a Trainz user :D
