[WIP] Class 700

Post by CamJhock »

Just something I've been working on for the past couple of days. I rode on one of these from Flitwick to St. Pancras when I was visiting family over there last, so that's what really inspired me to do this when I booted up SolidWorks one afternoon. This is just the TSO really, though I'll probably derive the rest of the coaches from this base. I'm really not looking forward to that front end though. I hope I can have the majority of the modelling done soon. I'll post when I have another major update.

Looks awesome. Some nice 3D work there. I'm trying to do a class 68 locomotive at the moment and drawing it up is a nightmare.

Good luck with the rest of your project

Status update: Started work on the PTSO and DMCO. That front end doesn't look quite right to me... I might redo it. I've also got a second project going on, but I'll announce that once I'm further into it. I'll stick with one project for now. Work on this train may slow down over the next couple of weeks as I have finals coming up soon.

Nicely done!

Hyped for this :)

I'll leave Karl to fill you in on the details when he's ready. All I'll say is that it will be impressive and expansive. However, it's not my project so I would be betraying confidences if I were to say anymore than I have. ;)

Cheers

Hi,
I know it's been a year, but are there any updates? I'm rather excited...
Thanks,

It'll be expanded by around 40 miles to Aylesbury.

After a lengthy hiatus and 5 redesigns, I have more screenshots. I was hoping to have the thing in Trainz by now, but I guess the stars just didn't quite align. Below are images of the final redesign.

Here's what I am planning on getting done:
- Custom cab
- Cab controlled doors
- Custom speed-dependent soundset (3rd/OHLE in same soundset if possible)
- 707 and 717 variants (these will come after the 700 is released)

As of right now, I'm not going to set a release date simply because I'm nowhere near ready to do so. I'll post another update soon.
