Future Rolling Stock Creation
Been thinking purely speculatively and obviously no guarentees as to whether it'll get done but I've been thinking about creating some rolling stock and wondering what people would most like to see.
As you lot may know I'm creating a few buildings for Cyberdonblue's route, Aylesbury to Marylebone with a view to merging it with my CLL route along with some general upgrades for CLL.
One of these upgrades I have in mind would be in upgrading some of the rollingstock. I was wondering what would be popular so I can prioritise development.
I was thinking firstly of creating a Class 375/377, with a view to creating a Class 387 with a full interior as a suitable replacement for the railwaves stock, as it seems to be a much requested model.
However they're not quite as numerous on CLL as the next type of unit I will bring up now.
However I was also thinking of making a new networker. A slightly less requested model however they are the more numerous type on the route and I can also use the bodyshell to create a 165, for Cyberdonblue's route.
I'm also thinking of devoloping S stock for the route, something I'm personally looking forward to making as I have a greater interest in this kind of stock than the stock I've noted above. Best to bear in mind I also have the technical drawings for these unlike the other units mentioned.
Lastly I was also thinking of creating a desiro for a different route I'm making, again another highly requested bit of rolling stock.
So the options are the following.
What would people most like to see?
- Electrostar (inc Class 378)
- Class 465 & 165
- S7 & S8 Stock
- Desiro (350/450)

Re: Future Rolling Stock Creation
Here's my opinion:
The Electrostar is the most-produced British EMU, so it is my favourite option.
Desiro: 2nd place
Networker: 3rd place
LU-stock: 4th place
I must say, it's a really tough choice. But whatever you make, I'm sure I'll love it, as always with your work.

Re: Future Rolling Stock Creation
Purely selfishly for my route, I would love to see a refreshed 465 with interior, and the same with the 376, 377 and 378.
Your recent 319 was brilliant. Also very keen on seeing the 421 soon.
Best regards,
Paul

Re: Future Rolling Stock Creation
Frankly, any of them would be wonderful to see and be much appreciated, but if I had to choose just one, I'd say the Electrostars. They'll fit in to a lot of places, especially with the dual-voltage versions. I don't want to be too greedy, but it'd also provide a good foundation for an eventual Turbostar, which is another big hole that Railwaves left.

Re: Future Rolling Stock Creation
Anything you do will be a welcome addition.
One way of ordering it could be based on what is already available; there are desiros (both 450 and 444) and whilst neither are top-notch (I mean the squeak and sketchup models, respectively) they both do a job.
Your 377/375s are great and maybe this will be the faster project if you want to get the products to release quickly as you only have interiors to do on some.
Similarly the Networkers shouldn't take too long to outfit with an interior (compared to new builds)!
I'm not an avid underground enthusiast, so I couldn't comment on the S stock.
Go with what your heart says and take it from there, I'm sure that everyone will be extremely grateful of whatever you go for.

My 4VEP is at quite an advanced stage so is looking to be my next rolling stock release, although at this point there's still loads to do. Such as scripting amd creating the various livery variants.macneil wrote:A detailed class 321 would fill A big hole or some mk1 base emus

Re: Future Rolling Stock Creation
Producing an class 375/377 does give you further options, if you wish it to.
First up, you have the option of "replacing" the cab and producing a class 357. You could also produce a class 379 out of it. Further mods could see a class 387. More radical work could give you a class 376 and a class 378. Even more radical still, change the bogies for B5000 (Class 220) type bogies and make changes to the equipment below the solebar (and stretch the bodies?), to produce a class 172. Come to that, stretch the class 357 bodies and change everything below the solebar and you could have a Turbostar.
Just my tu'penneth.

I would love to see the desiro family given the Klambert treatment 450/350/444 even a new 185.

Hi Klambert
I'm still pottering away with my ECML route, so I would certainly be pleased if you could bring your FCC/NSE 317 units up to the same level as your excellent 319's.

Re: Future Rolling Stock Creation
I reckon you should go for the electro stars and the S7/S8 stock! they'd go really well with your Central London Line! Your content is invaluable anyways so whatever you decide to release will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Future Rolling Stock Creation
Building on macneil's idea a 321 from a 319 would be a simple conversion given that its just a new cab front and altered underframe equipmentmacneil wrote:A detailed class 321 would fill A big hole or some mk1 base emus

Building on your idea, slap some jump leads on the front and you have a 456.Nexusdj wrote:Building on macneil's idea a 321 from a 319 would be a simple conversion given that its just a new cab front and altered underframe equipmentmacneil wrote:A detailed class 321 would fill A big hole or some mk1 base emus
