I'm feeling a bit better now, so I've done a little bit of work on Trainz today. I've uploaded an updated version of the flat wagons to TPR, this should address the problems found, so it should work 'out of the box' now.

http://trainzproroutes.org/tprdownloads ... ew&id=4509

Meanwhile ..... I guess I should have done this one last year. A fair ways to go yet, but it's getting there. Not helped by finding out the drawings I've been using are rubbish, and have some considerable errors. The footsteps I've already sorted, but the cab roof is still too high in the middle, and the spectacles too narrow. The splashers also don't look correct, and I'm told there are other errors on these drawings - most of the body is apparently about 3-4 inches too low. Ho-hum.

Glad to hear it.

Quick question, what would you say is the best signals to use for your tunnels?

Reece.

I'm not sure that there are any suitable signals. All of the low level ones I've seen are to far out from the track centre and would be outside the tunnel. To be honest I thought you said you were going to do some ?

Ah yes I did. I just never got round to doing it, I've been so busy with study for these Microsoft exams (MCSE) that work want me to get done ASAP.

I might give it a go but it's the scripting that I need to sit down and look over.
I've got diagrams for the central line signals so I might work off that. So if I do make this then I'll try and work on a ATO operation type of a script thingy. (Probably need some help with that)

A bit more work on the E class. The yellow lining looks a bit overscale, but dimensionally it's accurate - an optical effect I guess. Still got the dimensional queries to sort out. I've got a copy of the works drawings from the LT museum, but they're a bit of a nightmare to work with, as they are really badly faded. Don't suppose anyone has access to drawings of the F class ?

And now rescaled & finished ! It doesn't have a custom cab - if you must use cab mode then you'll have to add "a.cabfront" yourself using attachment maker, as I forgot to add it ! I'll maybe fix that in the next version, as I'm sure someone will manage to find a load more faults with it. Anyways it's been uploaded to TPR, so it should be available shortly. I'd like to do the Met livery(s), but those lined out wheels are putting me off - I just know I'll have trouble with it being slightly offset and wobbling as the wheels rotate.

Now available at http://trainzproroutes.org/tprdownloads ... ew&id=4518

It's been awhile, - was it really back in April I last posted here? A new job doesn't leave me a lot of time, and then way, way too much time in hospital for endless stupid tests after my TIA.

Anyways, on to some piccies of something I was tinkering with again recently. Still a ways to go, but at least externally it's starting to come together. The end vents still need doing properly, and the underframe isn't complete. It sits on borrowed bogies, as I still can't find details of the real ones, Some cab details have been completed, but still playing with the rest of the interior - the passengers are levitating !

Tried to find the bogies, however after extensive research the 1983 stock is based off the D stock. To be quite honest i don't think the D bogies would be too bad?

That looks great Dave :D

Just wondering how you've found finding information about the 83 stock? I've been trying to find information about them for my own curiosity and haven't found much more than a Wikipedia article and a couple of basic articles on the various LU sites.

There is a site here (http://www.squarewheels.org.uk/rly/stock/1983tubeStock/) with a bit of info.

The bogies of 1983 stock and D stock share some design features, but are not the same. Think about it - D stock is surface stock whereas 1983 stock is tube stock - you couldn't possibly fit a D stock bogie in the restricted space under tube stock without raising the floor level as on the standard (pre 1938) stock. The electrical equipment was very different (motors/alternators) and was allegedly less reliable on the 1983 stock, though the D stock bogies had enough problems of their own.

The trouble with most photos is that it's pretty dark under a train and very little is visible other than the shoebeams. The bogies don't have headstocks - just a simple H frame. I'll probably have to do my own drawing using the few clearish photos and known dimensions. Don't suppose anyone has some piccies from the unit in the LTM depot ?

As to how I find information - not everything is on the internet, I have a very extensive library. "Underground Movement" is one of the best resources and a recomended read (if you can find a copy at a reasonable price). I was well chuffed when on holiday this summer to find a bookshop in Wells (Superbook) selling a good selection of recent books by Capital Transport at less than half price ! Trouble was I could hardly buy the whole lot with SWMBO present, so had to settle for only a couple.
