I have been looking through various threads on this forum and the Aran forum for answers but to no avail. I am aware that there are various issues regarding Bloodnoks UK fully skirted crossing mainly them not going down fast enough on high speed lines and a few more but I've been unable to find my issue in among the near 30 or so threads I've looked through so any ideas would help...
i have on my route 8 of these 6 fully skirted and 2 half barrier all work flawlessly apart from dropping late on a 100mph section of my route I can live with that, all I say bar 1.......
i I have a section of Route 3 tracks. So I've had to use a double track crossing and a single with a small gap in between with connecting road not very protypical but a compromise, but like the look of Bloodnoks crossings. My issue is with a single track fully skirted crossing on a bi directional line heading into a platform when placed on the line in surveyor the barriers are raised but when I enter driver they go down without any train within miles and stay down, no siren or lights, I've tried deleting said crossing and replacing it, I've tried ground signals and invisible signals either side but it just sits there barriers down trains will proceed over the crossing with no issue but they just don't go back up, the crossing along side on the 2 track mainline works flawlessly even when the main lines are at full capacity of a train every 2 or so minutes.....
Edit: I also should mention I have an almost identical situation about 5 miles down the line but here the barriers work fine. The only difference there is the bi directional uses one track of the double track crossing the other track used by the southbound main line and the single track crossing is on the north bound main. North and South mains split for an island platform!

Re: TS12 UK Full Skirted barrier issue
Use the ATLS crossings instead. You can either build one using the constituent parts or one of the prebuilt crossings and then add the triggers. These can be set up to lower in plenty of time. As I recall, if you search MCB or AOCL you should come across the ones I mean.

The ATLS Kit, by author Boat, can be found on the DLS - simply search "atls". He offers both complete crossings and parts of crossings if you feel inclined to make your own. <kuid2:766564> would be the most simple replacement for your fully gated crossings.
As for where to place your triggers, boat's website offers a tutorial for uk crossings. http://www.boatztrainz.co.uk/tutorials.html (and then click on the right-hand tutorial, called Level Crossings Tutorial).
On a personal note, once you get your head around the concept, ATLS is a fantastic tool and the toolkits by boat and adrian19 are splendid, it's certainly worth persevering with it if you find it tough at first!

Re: TS12 UK Full Skirted barrier issue
I have downloaded all the various ATLS bits now and will read the tutorial today whilst at work, doesn't look to complex ........ Looks like the hardest part is getting the trigger in the correct place to allow the recommended 20 seconds need my maths head on the work this out at 40, 90 and 100mph.....
The tutorial doesn't seem to cover bi directional running are the triggers directional ?

Somebody published a handy table on one of the forums with all the distances and trigger times for the crossings. I can't remember who, when or where though but I do have a copy that I've copied and pasted below. That would be me. It's in the useful links thread if you want the full version where I think someone added the metric version too or there's this which is both...cyberdonblue wrote:Somebody published a handy table on one of the forums with all the distances and trigger times for the crossings. Check this system out. TRC system =Trigger Rail Crossing. It is so much easier to configure than the ATLS system. Download the UK items quick set up. No naming of objects if just a simple crossing. It is in French so just use Google Translate.
