Re: 2 road shed
It looks great Gary. Top job.
Ironically, of all of those type of sheds that I visited during my career none of none of them still had their glass sides. Most of the glass was replaced with sheets of corrugated iron (or worse, corrugated asbestos sheets in some cases.) I had great admiration for the fitters in those days too. Working underneath a loco in the freezing cold like that was definitely not my idea of a great work environment. The blokes nowadays are snug and warm behind their sliding doors with central heating. There's just no comparison.
Cheers
Dave

Re: 2 road shed
I'll see what I can dig up, Gary. The fuelling shed at Saltley was little more than a corrugated shed with three pits. They had two fuels roads - though only one was used generally outside the mad, busy periods in the evening - and the third road was generally used for brake block changes and minor repairs (like hosing out remains of animals or people [after the Coroner had been, of course] from underneath. Both ends of the shed were wide open to the elements but the fitters were out there come rain, hail or shine. Top respect to them all.
Cheers
