Re: Post your specs
Just got my new desktop hear are the specs
Intel® Core i5-2300 2.80 GHz
4GB DDR3 (2 x 2GB) Memory
1.5TB 5400rpm Hard Drive
ATI HD6570 (1GB) Graphics
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Optical Drive: BD Combo
Philips 22''lcd
At the back there is a hdmi slot but there is some plastic stopper in it the pc has a blue ray play built in so im guessing it would have to have a hdmi port is there a specific way to remove this plastic sounds kind of dumb but I don't want to damage it.
Macneil.

Re: Post your specs
aha just thought I'd post mine up
Desktop PC
-Motherboard - Asus P8H67-V
-CPU - Intel core i5 2400 @3.12ghz (Quad core)
-4gb DDR3 Ram @1366mhz
-2x 500gb Hitachi SATA HDD
-1xWestern Digital ATA HDD
-Graphics - Currently using onboard graphics as the pc had an argument with my old graphics card (which needs replacing anyway)
-WAS running AMD Radeon HD6450 1gb core clock 625mhz (overclocked to 750mhz)
-Have ordered a new card though - AMD Radeon HD7770 1GHz edition
-Packard Bell viseo 20" monitor @1600x900
Laptop 1 (main laptop)
Compaq Presario CQ57-355SA Notebook PC with AMD VISION technology
-CPU - AMD E-300 APU@1.3ghz (dual core)
-4gb DDR3 RAM @532mhz
-graphics - AMD Radeon HD6310 (488mhz core clock)
-HDD - 500gb Seagate ST950032 5AS SATA Disk Device
-Display res 1366x768
Laptop 2 (doesn't run trainz too well, used for school mostly)
Toshiba Satellite L300D
-CPU - AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-57 @1.9ghz
-2gb DDR2 RAM@667mhz
-Graphics - ATI Radeon Xpress X1250
-HDD - 500gb Hitachi Travelstar 5400rpm
-Display res 1280x800
When my new graphics card arrives I might build a second desktop PC for the old one, most likely AMD based as the carditself works fine, it's just a little lacking in power

Thought I'd post my specs as well, Still upgrading mine but this is what it is as of now:

CASE: Fractal Design Define XL Titanium Grey
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core G620 2.60GHz
RAM: 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz & 1GB DDR3 1333MHz (Total: 5GB RAM)
MoBo: Asus P8Z68-V
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5670 1GB GDDR5
HDDs: 1x 160GB (Pri) 1x 500GB, 1x 250GB & Ext 500GB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit
Screen Res: 1680x1050 (Dell SP2009W)
Laptop:
Dell Latitude D630
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 2.20GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR2
GPU: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M
HDD: 250GB
OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-Bit
I did have a Server which connected my network with all my files being stored on that but it crashed and i just plugged the hard drives into my system. It future fate is to be writes at this time, cause it will either become the server again or become a home computer for my dad as his old one is crashing a lot, i suspect that the CPU or Motherboard is failing. I would try and sort the problem but tbh it's been in use for many years now (it has a Pentium 4.... lol) so i think it's time has come, to finally go out of service. lol

Re: Post your specs
Thought I'd post my new specs since I'm in the process of upgrading
MAIN PC (Not working yet as PSU hasn't arrived!):
CASE: Cooler Master Elite 310
PSU: Corsair TX750M
Motherboard: ASUS P8H67-V (socket 1155)
CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 (3.12Ghz)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8Gb 1600Mhz DDR3
GPU: Powercolor Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2Gb (Overclocked to 1200Mhz core, 1325Mhz memory)
HDD: 2x500Gb SATA 6gb/s, 1x500Gb SATA 3gb/s
Monitor: 22" Bush TV@1920x1080 (HDMI)
SECOND PC (Currently being used to run Trainz until PSU arrives):
PSU: Corsair VS550 (550W)
Mobo: MSI B75MA-P45 (Socket 1155)
CPU: Intel Pentium G645 2.9ghz (OC to 3.2Ghz) Socket 1155
GPU Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition (OC 1350Mhz core, 1175Mhz memory)
HDD:1x500gb SATA 3gb/s
Monitor: 20" monitor @ 1600x900
LAPTOP:
Lenovo ThinkPad T61p
Intel Core2Duo T7700 2.4GHz
4Gb Samsung DDR2 RAM@667MHz
NVIDIA Quadro FX570m graphics (256mb dedicated)
15.4" Screen at 1920x1200
I have to say that despite being from 2007, my T61p is quite probably the best laptop I've ever used! It actually performs better than some desktops I've used!
It just works, has a GPU that's still decent nowadays, let alone in 2007, and has loads of features that I find myself missing whenever I have to use a non-Thinkpad laptop (ThinkLight, trackpoint, fingerprint reader, ultrabay, excellent WiFi signal etc). Although the less said about battery life (And weight!) the better

Re: Post your specs
Nice rig, I'm in the planning process of either an upgrade or new system. I've just bought myself 8GB of ram to go with my 4GB. Needed the upgrade for my Virtual Machines I've got running. (Windows Server 2008 R2 with AD DS (Active Directory Domain Services) running and a client Win 7 joined to the domain)
Lenovo laptops are the best for performance! I'm going to be getting a Lenovo. The company i work with all use Lenovo laptops and as I'm part of the Service/IT Departments Ill be getting the ThinkPad W530 Workstation from them but I'm putting in some ££ to upgrade a bit more. (I'm so looking forward to that!)

Re: Post your specs
I can't stand Lenovos. I think their overpriced and they look hideous IMO. Although on the money front I can't talk as I have 3 MacBooks an Acer laptop and a Dell XPS . I know, I like laptops. Don't know my specs at the mo but will post them later.

Re: Post your specs
I agree that the modern thinkpads aren't so good. They're ridiculously expensive, have the stupid chiclet keyboards and have 16:9 screens *shudder*
That being said, I swear by the oldermodels, which are still reasonably specced and can be picked up for a song! (I got my T61 for £179, simply because it's 6 years old now, and was missing the left mouse button on the touchpad. Doesn't affect me as I use the Trackpoint anyway.)
I too seem to have a collection of ancient (and 1 modern, but very c**p Compaq) laptops. I just seem to collect them hehe
I have:
Working
ThinkPad T61p (Main Laptop)
Compaq Presario CQ57 (My main laptop before the thinkpad)
Toshiba Satellite L300D (wasdonated by a friend, actually works very well once I extracted about a cubic foot of dust from the heatsink10
Dell Latitude D610 (on loan to my mum)
Not Working
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2515 (screen gone, so stripped down to mobo and mounted behind TV as a media streaming PC)
Advent 7102 (Absolutely knackered in every possible way)

Yeah I do like older Lenovo's much more. Currently I have:
Working:
Apple MacBook
Apple MacBook Pro
Apple MacBook Air
Dell XPS 501Z Intel Core i7 3770k ,3.5 GHz (much quicker than the Aspire),750GB,4GB RAM
Acer S3-391 Intel Core i5, 1.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB, 13.3”
I have no idea of the Apple's specs
Not working
Dell Latitude D600 (Sometimes works, sometimes not) Intel Pentium M, 128MB RAM,14.1"
Dell Latitude D610 Same as above but a bit quicker
An old IBM
A 10 year old Compaq
What I think was a Packard Bell
A temperamental HP notebook
E-machines notebook. HDD taken out and given to a friend.

Re: Post your specs
Never found the time to post here...
so here is what Ive got so far.
HP Compaq t3729uk
300w PSU
Intel Pentium D dual core 3.2 GHz
320gb Samsung HDD with 500gb Seagate backup from an old Sky+ HD box. 700 run hours so far!
4gb RAM
Windows 7 Home 32bit, may upgrade to Ultimate 64 if it goes down in price.
Nvidia GT210 graphics card. May upgrade again when I get the money.
So my rigs almost bog standard.
