Overclockers have got them listed for pre-order : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pc-compo ... ,CP-39X-AM

Might be tempted though I'll wait for them to come down to a more reasonable price ;)

It looks very interesting. If it's the real deal (and not more hype than substance) then it'll be fantastic to have some genuine competition in the market again. Intel have been allowed to charge what they like while AMD have been developing this new range. Now maybe this will scare the pants off them as AMD take the mass market back off them.

I'll be watching closely for a while longer before I decide whether or not to jump, but it certainly looks impressive.

Ryzen is making me both happy and sad:

Happy because its looking like AMD is about to have another "Athlon 64" moment, and without Intel blundering around with the P4 to boot!

Sad because I'm now looking at my 4690K and wondering whether I should upgrade (not that I could afford it, but still...), even though the PC its in is less than 2 months old!

About time really.

My i5 is about 4 years old, I looked at upgrading and the latest i5, at a price higher than I had paid, is benchmarked almost identically!
