Ballater Station substantially damaged in fire

Post by PFX »

The former Royal station in Ballater was almost completely destroyed by fire on Tuesday morning. It was a lovely wooden-built station and the terminus of the former GNSR (laterally LNER and BR) Deeside line. The Royal family used it due to its proximity to Balmoral.

What a tragedy. I hope some selfish idiot hasn't started the fire on purpose.

Maybe they should ask the royal family to chip in a grand or two towards the rebuild cost.

I'm sure a million pound is just pocket money to the Royal family.
