You can’t beat the late 80’s and 90’s liveries. Intercity and NSE

The Intercity Swallow and NSE were my two favourites.
The Intercity Swallow livery on a HST looked superb.

Re: Class 91 #119 now back in Swallow livery !
A mere 30 years old and it's nearly on the scrap heap already (they don't make 'em like they used to ) It's frightening actually. Where did those 30 years go? I remember training on the Class 90s and it really does feel like it was only last year or so. Shame they aren't getting round to scrapping those major lumps of excrement that they call DVTs though. Rather an appropriate acronym I thought really as they were about as welcome as a Deep Vein Thrombosis. Pure crap from day 1. It was great fun in the early days when everyone kept forgetting to isolate the E70 brake units on them on arrival at Euston. The poor bloke working it back out would then come to a griding halt when the AWS was activated by a ramp somewhere. You had no choice but to walk the whole length of the train, isolate the unit and walk back again ...and, of course, it was usually belting down rain when it happened. Happy days.
Cheers
Dave

I always thought that the IC swallow livery suited whatever class it was applied to. But the HST, 47, 89, 90 and 91’s looked the best....
