Trainz Service packs.

Hi all,
just wanted to know if there is a difference between the JustTrains version and Auran version of Trainz2009. Before I updated it there was a JustTrains logo on the launcher and now its gone. Also the menu's seem to have changed slightly.

After the patch, no there isn't any difference, patch was to bring it in line with the N3V version. I think there were some slight menu changes on the N3V supplied version as well.

Thanks Clam and Blackwatch, I am in the process of updating to SP4 as I don't think that my computer could take trainz 2012

Hi, I'm having trouble patching to SP4, i have patched to 40040, but it now won't let me update to SP4. I have tried the tutorials but couldn't find anything. Any help would be great.

Here's what it says

Ready to install from local patch file.
Current version: 40040.

This patch installer requires at least Service Pack 3 for Windows XP.
The patch can be retried once the Service Pack is installed.
Patching aborted.

Hi Rail,

Looks confusing at first glance, but would assume the message refers to your windows XP operating system.There's probably something in the windows sp3 patch which the Trainz patch needs to work.

If it's a windows patch you can download these direct from Microsoft update centre. Can we assume correctly that your PC is set to automatically download windows updates which should have sorted this problem a long time ago.

If you are running windows XP on your computer then you probably need to install service pack 3 for windows XP before attempting to patch your version of trainz with trainz SP4 .

Oh right, as I normally use my Windows 7 laptop, I didn't know there were service packs for XP. I actually thought it was talking about Trainz sevice packs.

Just bought Trainz 09 again, registered it with my existing account but does it come with a FCT or is that only if you register a new Trainz account?

Probably doesn't come with a free FCT, not all discs do. My 2010 disc didn't.

Depends on what offers are or are not included, which may also depend on where you got it from. If there is a free FCT or reduced cost one, which seems more likely these days they will email you, if not they won't. There is no actual set entitlement.

Thanks for the quick replies. Also I bought Trainz 09 about a year ago and it came with a FCT. I didn't buy 2010 because its not much different but more expensive.
