Trainz 2004 Changing Engine Sounds

Post by vanbasher »

Hello all just a quick question which I'm sure somebody can answer. Please can somebody give me the full name of the folder which has to be deleted upon changing an enginesound on TRS 04. I did have the information on the UK trainz forum before it closed but I cannot get the information I require now. If anyone could provide me with this I will be very grateful thanks a lot all VANBASHER.

Do you mean the world_dispatcher.chump file, which you remove so that trainz will rebuild it with the new content information? It's not a folder it's a cache file, because the way trainz works to speed things up is that it caches everything. What that means is that if you directly change the files within trainz, it doesn't recognise the change as the cache is built from the files and only when re-built does it update. Hope this helps.

Rather than searching, just go to [Hard Drive]/Program Files/TRS2004/Cache and it's the one called 'world_dispatcher.chump'

Other than purchasing TRS2006 or higher I don't think so I'm afraid.
