Hi Hope somebody can help with a problem I have. When I installed trainz tc3 my version number was 3517, I used a patch to move it up to 3529. After a couple of days I had a problem with missing content stock, so I uninstalled trainz tc3 and tried a restall, when I got this message at the begining of the restall, the MD5 file did not match the one of the patch file, the file may have been altered. Because I patched up on the last install, I might have changed the version mumber and that is why I cannot reinstall tc3. Is there any way to change it back to my version 3517. I have found out that when I start to install tc3 it installs the patch for 3529 then I get the message about the MD5 file, is there anyway to ghange this and get my own version number back, so I can get a good restall. Hope somebody can help.

Re: Trainz TC3 Problem installing
Patience mate not everybody comes on here every day and many trainz users have moved on from TC3 now but i'm sure someone will pop up and help you out. I can't as 've never had TC3. Just give it a little time i'm sure by the end of the week you'll have a better idea of how to sort out your problem.

Mallard, do you have a hard copy of TC3 or is it a digital download from N3V ?

Re: Trainz TC3 Problem installing
Ok, I don't have TC3 & my knowledge of on computers is not far above basic, but I will try & help
as much as I can so bear with me ....
Firstly, your hard copy will still be at the same build as when you bought it, that can't change.
When you uninstalled, you had already downloaded & installed a patch .............
It looks to me that the patch is still logged in your computers register & is looking for a disc
of a higher build than the one you are trying to install.
There is only one way out as far as I am aware of, that is to completely uninstall TC3.
Delete any folders or files you can find related to TC3 & the patch, then use a program
such as 'CCleaner' to clean any left over files from the registry.
You should then be able to reinstall the base game from your hard copy, then if that goes ok, you can then repatch to your desired level.
I have seen it stated many times on the Auran forum, that if any part of the game or it's patches
are left in the registry, it will screw up any attempt to make a good reinstall.
Sorry if you have tried all this already, but I thought any help better than none. Hope you get sorted .

Re: Trainz TC3 Problem installing
Think I suggested this on the N3V forum, but have you tried cleaning the disk and the DVD drive? could be something as stupid as a thumbprint causing file corruption.
Have you tried installing it in different location? not the default but say C:\Auran.
