GSCEs and A-levels
Is anyone else going through GCSEs or A levels at the moment? I got my first GCSE results today and am really pleased, with A*s in English Language, Chemistry and Astronomy. This is only my first year of exams though; more next year.

Astronomy ?
Strange subject to have as a GCSE qualification at school. Well done though on the english and chemistry results.
It was many moons ago that i took my O levels and CSE exams where i passed 4 O levels and 6 CSE's. The year after they changed to the GCSE qualifications.

Re: GSCEs and A-levels
Thank you.
Astronomy GCSE was an optional extra which was offered by one of the Physics teachers, who has an interest in the subject (3 telescopes in his classroom). We did it at lunchtime as part of a club. It is a proper subject, and covers a large area of knowledge, from stellar evolution to fate of the universe; it is a really interesting subject to learn.

Haha when i got my GCSEs i didn't do no way near as you.. lol lets just say i was a kid that didn't want to learn in school but wanted to learn other things outside (Computers mostly, the school found out i was really good with computers and put me in the IT Office and i was an IT Technician for 2-3 years while I studied there)
Anyways, good going on your GCSEs, whats your next steps? College? Flying to Mars?

Re: GSCEs and A-levels
Hi, Congratulations to everyone!
I'm really pleased, as I did a lot better than I expected. I too didnt care for school, and didnt revise at all, I found trainz more appealing lol.
I still achieved...
2xA* in Applied business studies
A in maths
A in English Lit.
B's in English Lang, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
I got a Merit on the ICT OCR Nationals course, which im told is roughly an a/b.
These are my final grades, as I'm done with school now. wopee!
I have a place on a city college course, IT Practitioner, as I am interested in IT. We may be doing some script at some point, which I hope will help me learn a little about Trainz script!
Cheers,
Huccaby

Re: GSCEs and A-levels
Well i have got my results just B's and A's with an A* in resistant materials which for people who are not at my school is product design or for those who have no idea what either of those mean its basically designing something to make in metal and woodworking and then making it.
its great that i got an A* in it as i wish to be an engineer of some sort as long as its not in an office and i can take things apart
