Re: Disabilities
Hopefully a short term disability.
I had Cubital Tunnel Syndrome in both elbows due to my old job. I had two operations last year. One was a success, one didn't work out, so it has now left me with a right arm that doesn't straighten fully, plus I have weakened grip, pins and needles in the hand and pain in the elbow as a result. I have good days and bad days. Hopefully they'll be able to sort something out when I move away from my useless numpty of a doctor.
Other than that, minor health issues really. Asthma and depression. Nothing too troublesome really.

Re: Disabilities
Hi to all
At 59 I got Prostate Cancer and had to have it removed as it was advanced due to a slack GP.
& years on I still have Incontinence as well as permanent Erectile dysfunction but I am alive and still live with hope that one day I can get rid of the incontinence.
Unfortunately we all have to live with depression from our ailments but if that's all then we are lucky, wish you all the best.

Re: Disabilities
love your name @oldfartdan.
I broke my foot playing lacrosse, then broke my back on exercise at RAF Marham and then broke my leg last week playing football. life in the military but in all seriousness it has taken 4 years to recover my back which lead to depression and agoraphobia but mostly better now. before i broke my leg of course but i do have a permenant disability with my back of around 5%. Not enough to get me kicked out the RAF yet but give it time

Re: Disabilities
Although I don't normally brag about my own defects, since its been brought up in a thread I might as well share mine. I was born with a form of Cerebral palsy that has left me with a permanent weakness in both my shoulder blades that limits how much i can lift and also explains why I have great difficulty holding a camcorder still for long periods of time (one of the many reasons I had to quit as a train enthusiast).
Although not officially being diagnosed, I also suffer from a form of nervous ibs which the name is self explainitary that can limit my ability to travel from one week or another, depression & No natural arches in either feet. Because I was born with essentially flat feet, i have to wear artificial "soles" which makes up for the lack of natural arches but this also limits the time i can spend on my feet which again is part of the reason I had to give up being a train enthusiast.
Last but not least is poor circulation in both of my feet which unfortunately, a problem that was passed on from my real father in which means the cold weather affects me more than most and even in normal weather, I don't have the normal feedback in either feet which are near enough white as a sheet of paper during the winter (although probably a case of tmi, try imagining running both of your feet under a hot tap for 2 minatues while in the bath to get "normal" function back in both feet.
I guess in all of our own ways, we all have defects to varying degrees and we all have our own ways of coping. As a child, I also suffered from Asthama although i have got over it since then & thanks to being bullied in school at the age of 13, I also suffer from nosebleeds (and no I didn't cause any trouble at the time (I was the quiet teenager who use to sit in the corner in the classroom just getting on with my coursework.

Re: Disabilities
The only thing I'm currently prepared to mention on a public forum is Raynaud's Syndrome. Which is a total pain for work because I have to wait out in the cold at bus stops for my bus to arrive, and there are some buses that have crap heaters.
It's worst in my feet. I tend to lose feeling in a couple of the toes on my left foot fairly quickly, but when it starts to get properly cold, I can lose the feeling in all of my toes.
My hands aren't so bad, in that I rarely lose the feeling in any of my fingers, but the skin on my hands normally goes purply-blue, with orange blotches in places.
I generally have reduced blood flow to my ears and nose, but they just go very cold.
