Re: Kitchen Companies Cardiff
I think I deleted all the spam members I could find earlier, I have now set it so I approve new members again.

Re: Kitchen Companies Cardiff
Don't know if this would be a helpful suggestion or not but maybe new members provide their kuid and Trainz user name as part of the signup?

Re: Kitchen Companies Cardiff
Like your idea it then proves that they are a valid trainz member but then they don't have to show all their details to everyone if they don't want to

Re: Kitchen Companies Cardiff
It would stop folks with illegal copies from registering to the forum , that way they wouldn't have access to any additional content .
If it's someone with a genuine enquiry about purchasing the game etc. then they can go to the Auran forum which is set up to cope with that .
The only downside is theirs nothing to stop folks going to the Auran forum and scanning through the usernames list , Which also contains associated kuid numbers then coming back here to use that to join .
As a suggestion it may be worth putting new members on moderation for their initial 3 or even 5 posts as that in itself will weed out the ones who haven't got a clue what trainz is about and are here to just spam .
A simple statement to the fact that they will be moderated for X amount of posts when they attempt to join will put off most spammers .

Liverpool13, as said before on these forums, please do not reply to spam messages that appear. Just report them and we'll remove them. I suggest you keep an eye on the Announcements forum as there are many topics there about spam messages.
