Re: Formula 1
I'm a massive F1 fan. For me, the last season and a half have pretty much been the best that I can remember (though, being only 24, I can only make that claim based on the past 10 years or so). That said, I do like to learn about the history of the sport - Sky Sports do some really good programmes about the history and the lesser known aspects of F1, and if you haven't seen the Senna movie, then I would say that is a must see.

Re: Formula 1
I used to watch it avidly back in the days of Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna but haven't watched it since Damon Hill became F1 champion.

Re: Formula 1
Like Warbo, I have been watching F1 since the days of Senna, Mansell & co.
I remember Schumacher driving the Benetton, Nikki Lauda's Ferrari bursting into flames at Nurburgring in 1976, leaving
him horribly scarred & the sad death of Ayrton Senna (a true master) in '94'.
I still follow F1, but the money making antics of the 'poison dwarf' Ecclestone have turned me more to BTCC, I will no
longer watch F1 on tv, because I don't see why I should line Bernies pockets by buying SKY, if I can't watch a full season
of live races on BBC, then I won't watch any.

Re: Formula 1
I watch a couple of the racers, however Sebastien Vettel has ruined my enjoyment of it. I used to watch it all the time, but now a combination of crappy times from Sky and the above driver mean I hardly watch it. I prefer BTCC and the Global Rally cross Championship.

Re: Formula 1
I watch the BBC highlights usually at some unearthly hour on Freeview 301 or whatever it is, plays on a loop from late onwards, having tried to avoid any news all day. Actually managed that yesterday! Not over fond of Vettel either, needs bringing down to earth. I refuse to contribute to the Murdoch empire.

Re: Formula 1
I used to watch F1 from the 70s and through the 80s but my interest waned as more and more responsibility was taken from the driver and passed to the technical teams in the pits. It's only my opinion but I find F1 a complete bore fest now. It's gone the same way as soccer and rugby, all three having changed for the worse in recent times, but that's another argument.
Remember the days when cars ran out of fuel on the last lap because the driver had applied too much boost? I seem to recall Mansell doing just that on the second last turn from the chequered flag and losing pole as a result. There were great characters and classic racing battles on and off the circuits and it was genuinely exciting to watch F1. I went through a stage of watching the 1st lap to see if there were any crashes in the scrum for turn 1 but I don't even bother with that now.
