Post by Dannypenguin »

Hi all, I'm hoping your able to help me here. I'm looking for a bulb for a BR Bardic lamp but I can't find them anywhere? Is it a type of car bulb?

Thanks in advance. :)

They are quite a standard bulb, look at an existing one, you should find a part number on there. Maplin should be able to find it if you show them the number.

Thanks! :) Also, I am probably going to convert mine to use three D batteries, does anyone have experience of battery life with this?

My LED light uses 2 AAs and lasts for ages. Also sits nicely in small belt pouch. I know it's a matter of personal taste but as a shunter, the LED makes more sense for me as I can keep it handy, while being out the way.

The bulb used in the Bardic is a standard torch bulb. I would imagine any good hardware shop would sell them.

Thanks. I am going into maplins on Thursday to purchase the D battery holder, as although they are £5 on ebay I think I can knock one up for cheaper. :) I am taking the lamp with me to test sizes for that so will look at the bulb then.
