Beer has happened.

Post by PFX »

Right, I'm fed up of that Brexit thread so as a diversion, beer has just happened to me. Has beer happened to anyone else? Perhaps gin might also happen to me. Anyone want to start a support group? :D

:o T'was beer wot dun for me! (Sadly I can't partake at the moment due to all the medication but I had some good news from my Consultant on that score today. Pending a heart scan, beer may be back on the menu very soon.)

Beer isn't an option while I'm cycling around the peak district, makes keeping my weight at 66kg/10.4 Stone that bit more difficult (At 6ft 1in's tall it's hard enough as it is!)

My God, Jack. You must be on a starvation diet. I'm 5 foot 7 and was ten and a half to eleven stone ringing wet when I was an active football player - in the good old days . (Unfortunately, I've ballooned to over 17 stone since my heart trouble began more than 2 years ago - but it's beginning to reduce again now post op and with rehab.)

Beer, Beer, Glorious Beer, nothing quite like it for giving you cheer !

To say nothing of the head the morning after.

Now I'm retired I stick STRICTLY to Southern Comfort and lemonade, I can drink a whole one of each before I fall over.

Physicians of every kind will ask you about alcohol consumption & smoking very early in any consultation and (sadly) they go on to accept that every single thing that is wrong with you is down to you own 'silly habits'. If you lie about alcohol/tobacco construction they will see through the deceit straight away.

It is possible to visit private clinics who are more advanced in their treatment of such problems, you might be fortunate to get the NHS to pay, or your private health insurance - but there is usually a clause against what is regarded as self inflicted damage and they won't pay up. You will be looking at around £1,000 per day if you are a in patient.

Good luck to you well off chaps (and chapesses) and to all the all the rest of us - maybe see you at a certain festivity at Sawson ? Coke for me for the rest of night.
