Looking forward to my forthcoming move.

After a lifetime of living & working in London, I have now taken early retirement by walking out on my job. The London traffic & rat-race has finally got to me.

We've sold our house in Docklands & purchased an older but beautifully refurbished property in Dover & the handsome profit made from the outrageous sale price will stand us in good stead until we obtain our state & private pensions in 2 years time.

We will be in close proximity to Dover Priory Station & our daughter & grandson who live just around the corner from the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway in Hythe.

With a fabulously large loft, I'll be able to have a gigantic 00 gauge model railway, something I always wanted but couldn't do in London because of the limited space available.

I will of course have more time for Trainz which has brought me immense pleasure since I purchased TR2004 all those years ago.

Ahh, the joys of not working for the man anymore.

Regards from a happy Gam. :D :D :D

Yes, welcome to "Easy Street" Gam  .

I retired a few years ago on health grounds (about 8 or 9 years earlier than planned) but I'm rarely bored. I've become very good at "taking it easy" too 8-) . In fact, taking it easy has become second nature now. I now can't remember what rush hour was like, I can't remember packed trains, cursing punters or moaning minnies, it's great. I get out of bed in the morning and if I want to do nothing, then that is exactly what I do. You can't beat it. ;) :D

Enjoy it Gam and I hope your retirement is a long and happy one :D

Happy retirement Gam, if you visit New Romney station on the RH&DR, walk down the platform to the shed end & give the lads at 'Railcam' a wave in the camera. :)

Another early retirer here I took early retirement 6 years ago, 7 years before planned, best thing I ever did!

So you enjoy your life of leisure although I seem to do more than I ever did while working!
