Ferguson only became the best manager of all time because he was given the time, 6 years, to become a success and actually win something. It's very rare that a manager gets anything more than 2 years so Fergie was well beyond the average tenure of current Premier league teams. The rumour was if Man Utd had lost to my team, Forest, in an FA cup tie in Jan 1990 then he would've been sacked and history may well have been different.

Brian Clough is amongst the best managers of all time list winning 2 Division one league titles with 2 different teams and winning back to back European cups, now Champions League trophies. He almost got to a European cup final with Derby County as well. That achievement was with small clubs such as Derby County and Forest. His achievement with Forest, as Clough stated, was like a club such as Barnsley now getting promotion from the Championship, winning the Premier league title and winning the Champions league.
Work to live not live to work.
