Triggers and wait times

Im trying to get to grips with creating my first session.

I have a trigger set up so when a certain train hits it a route gets set and the signal turns green and off we go. That bit is simple. One bit that isn't but I thought it would be is setting a wait time before the route is set. So for example the trigger is fired but there is a wait time of lets say 30 seconds before the route is set and you can then set off. Which rule do I use to achieve this and how does indenting impact on this? I though I could simply do this:

Train hits trigger > Wait rule set to 30 seconds > set junctions rule

However Im finding that the Wait rule simply 'waits' from the moment you started Driver and not from when the parent trigger is fired. Im a bit confused. Is there another 'wait' rule I should be using or do I need to indent in a certain way?

Doesnt matter its me. The route was already set and I was wondering why when I reached the signal it was green therefore it was not making me wait at the signal.
