I have started adding AWS & TPWS to my route, and while trying to do research about where the systems should be placed found this useful guide thanks to google:

https://www.rssb.co.uk/rgs/rulebooks/RS ... ss%203.pdf

It gives information about background, purposes, placement, equipment and more of both AWS ( Automatic Warning System) and TPWS (Train Protection Warning System).

Thanks Mark. Until I saw that page, I'd been using the following guide which I never thought to add here. http://www.railway-technical.com/sigtxt7.shtml
