Re: Windhoff MPV WIP
Your animations on the MPV will include sandite spraying?

Re: Windhoff MPV WIP
Looks superb
If you need any info I was passed out to drive MPV's in 2008 though I only operated them for one sandite season before I retired .
@Fizzywizzy : The sandite doesn't get sprayed , it's pumped out at low pressure to ensure it sticks to the rail top (A bit like toothpaste from a tube) . The water gets sprayed at extreme pressure , In fact it's of sufficient pressure to start cutting into the rail should the sprayer be left on when the MPV is stationary .

High visibility pixels must be worn when on or about the line !!

Now that is high pressure. Image letting that sort of pressure loose in a residential application, say washing cars.Nexusdj wrote:The water gets sprayed at extreme pressure , In fact it's of sufficient pressure to start cutting into the rail should the sprayer be left on when the MPV is stationary .

Re: Windhoff MPV WIP
Now that most be some pressure then. Back when I was studying as a student fresh out of school back in 2004 on a motor mechanics course, we where told that many of the newer cars using the higher pressure fuel injection systems (diesel) used such a high injection pressure that some of the prototype engines that a few car manufacturers where working on at the time was actually splitting the pistons in half!
It may be off topic but either way, you wouldn't want to get our hands in front of the injectors for sure!

Re: Windhoff MPV WIP
The water is sprayed at a pressure of 1500 bar (PSI 21755.7) at a rate of 130 litres a minute .
To put that in to context the brake pipe pressure on a train when fully charged is 5 bar (72.5 psi) !!
@Steve Kemp :
Each vehicle is 20.2 metres long . Combined length 40.4 metres
1 vehicle is the master and is powered by 2 Volvo diesel engines .
The other is the slave unit and is unpowered .
They usually run as Master + slave though there are areas where they do run Master + Master units and the MPV's can be configured that way .
