dvd regions

Hi all there are a few dvds on amazon uk that I would like to buy that are not available in my country but they are a different dvd region does anyone no if there is a program that and rip them from the cd to my computer to be able to watch them ?

Why would you need to do that ? Why not just watch them on your PC in the first place ? OK you can't do it with Microsoft Media Player as that honours the stupid region settings, but there are plenty of other payers that don't give a hoot what the region is set to. RealPlayer is the one I use to watch foreign DVDs. http://uk.real.com/realplayer/

Alternately why not get a region free DVD player such as the Sony DVP-SR150 ?

Iirc there are 4 regions.

1 is Americas
2 is for Europe
3 is Africa
And 4 is the Orient regions I.e Asia and Australasia.
But what is wrong with a region-free DVD player?
