Re: Drodditch Line
Hi all,
I've done a bit more to the Drodditch Line:
A little map of the electrified section. The bit from Westfield to Caswell Park is an existing diesel line, which will be electrified up to Caswell Park. Ginton and Caswell Park stations already exist as part of the diesel line. The line to George's wood, and all the smaller stations are being built. The line from Westfield to Toppenham Green/Birchfield is already in place
A 477 terminates at Westfield, the extension section not having been built yet...
The early stages of the extension line electrification are underway. Here we see the site of Honbury station:
The grassy verge just past Honbury
The line's name-giver - The disused Drodditch station

Re: Drodditch Line
Drodditch sounds awfully like the town i live in 'Redditch' is it based on the Cross City line or the Midlands?
Born, brought up in the Midlands. I mainly like EMUs but i also like present day Diesel locomotives. Born in the era of the Centro Class 323.

Re: Drodditch Line
It's not intentionally based around the X-city line (but does comprise of a short electrified section and a few diesel lines around a big city). I did start it off as set in the West Midlands (my inspiration was the Snow Hill lines) but it doesn't really have a definite region anymore. I tried to keep the towns 'Midlands-sounding' eg "Drodditch", "Fimbar & Hartlington", "Shugley" and "Solebridge Green". Do they sound Midlands-y enough to you?LMCLASS323 wrote:Drodditch sounds awfully like the town i live in 'Redditch' is it based on the Cross City line or the Midlands?

Re: Drodditch Line
Shugley sound simular to Rugley Trent Valley while Fimbar & Hartlington sounds like the station Hayes & Harlington on the GWML which is in London.

Re: Drodditch Line
Hi all, after a while, I've done some more on the Drodditch Line, whilst I wait for inspiration for Wendsey aha!
It's a dull wet weekend, and the line is closed for engineering.
Mullcorn station is now buried underneath a shopping centre:
Still pretty bare - haven't yet added platform furniture:
A gloomy day just east of Westfield, looking towards Honbury:
South Drodditch:

Re: Drodditch Line
Hi all, I am continuing with the Drodditch line, just extremely slowly! Instead of producing new sections though, I've been going back and tweaking some of the dodgier existing sections:
Westfield has been edited to make it a little less 'Bright and plastic' looking. I've given it new platforms, furniture and the Drodditch platforms have more realistic OHLE:
Fimbar & Hartlington has also recieved some platform updates:
I've also started to update Jakestown, but haven't got any pictures of that yet. Will post some soon.
Let me know what you guys think, comments are always welcome

Thanks, It probably will get uploaded once it's finished, but that's a long way away at the moment. I'll try and upload it for 2009sp4 and above.

Re: Drodditch Line
Hi all, I've been doing a little more on the Melbridge - Tristanwood section:
And a 478 approaches Birchfield:
And I've redesigned the junction at Melbridge, where the line to Birchfield (bottom) splits from the line to Toppenham Green (right)
What do you guys think so far?
Cheers,
