I have been running T10 and T12 and am now a beta tester for TANE.
I am a retired Local Govt Officer and am living in Clifton, Beds.
I am not a great Train runnng enthusiast - my real pleasure and joy is in landscape and village/town design.
My master plan is to draw up some Victorian scenes and sequence them through from pre trains, mid Victorian and Late Victorian/First World war with 3 linked but totally different Boards.
Mega problems before I start but more of that in the proper arena,
Hoping that Tane will be a huge success but it does have issues at the moment. Again, more of that in the right arena.

Welcome Graham, always good to have someone who is interested in setting the scene and not just running trains.
I bet it won't be long before you start wanting to make your own scenery content, which can be absorbing in itself. This can be done a zero expense using Blender & GIMP (both free open source) plus some Trainz utilities which are also free.
Enjoy.

I have been thinking of it but just not sure I have that sort of ability.
Eyesight problems don't help with detailed work either but I might just have to star building something soon.

You never know until you try, but if I can do it...Graham wrote:...I have been thinking of it but just not sure I have that sort of ability...
Nearly all Blender screen settings can be adjusted (text size, text colour, background colour, layout, etc. - it's very flexible) and there is always the normal zoom function, GIMP is not so flexible but for detail work again just zoom in.Graham wrote:...Eyesight problems don't help with detailed work either but I might just have to start building something soon...
If you would like a very rough and ready basic tutorial for Blender I can send you one I did a while back and have never got round to publishing, but a couple of people have found it helpful. Just PM me or post a request on this forum.
Cheers
Chris

A warm welcome to you Graham. So glad you found us. As I said, this is a much gentler place than the main Auran forum. I'm sure you'll be happy you joined us.
