Hi All,
Wondered if anyone else has had this issue and might know the correct fix.
On Thursday I had the normal windows update pop up with relevant pc updates. However one of them was optional, namely Dolby Audio Driver; thinking this would be advantageous it was duly installed.
However since then on starting up the laptop I keep getting a box coming up stating:
Dolby Audio Driver Version 7.2.8000.17 installed: Software expects version 7.2.7000.4 please install valid Diver and Software Application.
It does not show in the installed updates listing so unable to uninstall. Have checked on the net for various sites to get the relevant software to no avail. Most windows help sites are quoting two ideas to sort the problem out (appears to be a common problem).
One site says go into install/uninstall software and delete the dolby file altogether and the other suggests hide the warning panel on start up.
The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5750Z with Realtek audio fitted. With this error there appears to be no difference in sound levels.
Wondered if any of the computer experts out there might know of the correct course of action for this issue.
Regards Chris A.

Re: Dolby Audio Driver Issue
Hi Clam,
Thanks for reply. had already tried that site and solution many thanks for the idea though. It shows in all updates list but not in the list where you can delete/remove them.
Have tried opening the Dolby Files but is blocked because of the wrong driver issue, can't win.

Re: Dolby Audio Driver Issue
Have you tried rolling back the driver via Control Panel?

Hi Shane,
Thanks for reply. Never thought of that, put it down to an early senior moment.
