Class 73 project
I've reskinned Strings Class 73 into GBRF livery. Actually it's more of a refurbishment really and should now meet TS12 standards. I've basically changed the meshes from PMs to IMs, added headcode boxes, removed any aliases and upgraded the textures from 512 x 512 to 1024 x 1024. The models themselves are pretty basic, they have no complex scripting prone to bugs. The only problem with that is you can't switch from Electric to Diesel mode as these are now separate models. I've received permission from Strings to release these.
I plan on making the 73s in the following liveries, GBRF, Merseyrail, (with Sandite 501s) and Gatwick Express (hopefully with a Class 489 and MK2 set). I may also consider making some in Southern, Network Rail and perhaps a fictional DRS livery.
To go with the GBRF 73s I hope to make a Class 489 in Network rail livery.
I will post on this thread as to how this project is getting along.

Re: Class 73 project
Having a few problems regarding the upload so it looks like they're going to appear on the DLS a couple of days later.

Re: Class 73 project
They've got to be minimum build 3.7 now for them to be accepted (plus what ever requirements that build needs).
High visibility pixels must be worn when on or about the line !!

Re: Class 73 project
That's what the problem was, I had them set to build 3.5, I changed them to build 3.7 and then discovered I had a problem with the fonts path, I managed to sort it all out though. Ruddy N3V keep moving the goal posts.Nexusdj wrote:They've got to be minimum build 3.7 now for them to be accepted (plus what ever requirements that build needs).

Re: Class 73 project
Working on a Class 489 to go with the GBRF and proposed Gatwick Express locos.
These units were converted in 1984 from 2-Hap driving motors, into driving luggage vans to act as DVTs on the Gatwick Express, the majority were withdrawn from service in 2005, amazingly only three have been scrapped, as Network Rail purchased three for use as deicing and load bank vehicles and four have gone to preservation.

Re: Class 73 project
Forgotten to mention that a while ago I released an update to the GBRF 73s, including some small livery fixes, replacing the 5WES enginesound and backdating them so they now work in trainz versions 3.5. I've also released a reskin of GBRF 73209.
