That looks spot on from what I recall Gary. Been a while but I'm fairly certain they were that shape.

They most definitely were Briggsy. There was also a small window between the Guards compartment and the "cage." The Guard had a sort of desk in his little compartment just beyond the handbrake that he could stand up at and use to write his log. Some desks were sideways facing some were between the compartment and the "cage." The window would have commenced at about chest or shoulder height rising to about 7 feet. The green wall on the left in your picture (greeni) would also have had a window in it and a sliding glazed door too (same sort of door as the ones at the vestibule ends that lead into the passenger areas except that the guard's door was half glazed.)

Hope that comes across clear enough.

Cheers

Like this dave, was the window left or right of the door?

Looks smashing Gary. Brilliant. I don't blame you if you don't want to do anymore to it but if you look at the picture that is top right in your post, the door would have had a window right next to it to the right hand side (between the door and the cage.) Height wise it would probably be about the same as the window you have in the door and maybe just as wide, certainly not much wider anyway. It looks great as is though, Gary. I can almost smell the mailbags

The only pictures I can find at the moment are very poor ones and are not exactly what you are modelling although they're close:

Hope they help in some way.

A bit belatedly, I've just realised I have unbridled access to a Mk2 DBSO and the guard's compartment is pretty much as you have it although the cage is not installed. Doh!

Yes, the Mk2f conversion. Ex Scottish DBSO 9713, formerly BSO 9534. The driving cab was refitted by NIR with GM controls. Other than that, the layout is pretty standard minus the cage.
