That'll be because of that Johnny Walker whiskey ;)
:lol: I can't stand the stuff Briggsy. Whiskey of ANY kind just tastes like paint stripper to me (I really must stop drinking paint stripper too :shock: )

Now to save starting A whole new thread on the forum or digging one up from years ago im trying to add bogey sonds to A vehicle im using this as A template but changing the kuids to what I need.

track-sound
{
track-sound-element0
{
track-sound <kuid:45317:102761>
priority 10
bogey <kuidXXXX:XXXX>
}
}

the rollingstock works fine untill I add this and get the error VE52: The Tag 'track-sound' is not permitted within a container of type 'traincar'.

is there A certain place in the confic this extra bit needs to be added in.

cheers

I believe you have to add the bogey sounds to a bogey asset, not to the train vehicle itself.

Track sounds for loco's , coaches and wagons go in the bogey config

Try this :

Code: Select all

track-sound
{
  default
  {
    track-sound                         <kuid:45317:102761>
    bogey                               <kuid:XXXX:XXXXX>
    priority                            10
  }
}
The "Bogey" entry kuid number "XXXX:XXXXX" should be the same as the bogey kuid your using it with .
It also requires the track sound kuid adding to the kuid table .

Code: Select all

kuid-table
{
  0                                     <kuid:45317:102761>
}
Whats the kuid of the item that goes faulty ?

kuid2:2512:51222:40 is the 2_axle_wagon engine file by Pikkabird , Shown built-in TANE and the full fat 2019 install . You won't be able to alter that as it's built-in , well you can initially but when you go to commit it it will flag up faulty . Was there any specific reason you wanted to alter an engine file ?
