New Project 2022

Post by dave55007 »

After seeing many videos of Heaton Lodge - the largest 'O' gauge layout in the country, I decided to model it in Trainz. I already have it in Train Sim World 2, but thought it might be nice to get it more interactive. I've modelled from Ravensthorpe station and the Thornhill LNW Junction to Bradley Junction near Deighton station, so including Heaton Lodge Junction and Mirfield station. Set in the era 1980 - 1985, blue diesels reign supreme. My first pics are from a footbridge vantage point on Ravensthorpe station. The variety of diesel classes seen are not exhaustive for the area.

I am tempted to add to the ends, Dewsbury is only a couple of miles east and Huddersfield only a couple of miles west, but I do hate populating and landscaping towns!

Unfortuately, with it being in TRS2009, no chance of sharing it on DLC I'm afraid. :( ., but thanks for the comment, pacerguy :D

Regards,

Dave

A tad west of Thornhill LNW Junction is a spot ideal for viewing the signal gantries for the junction:

A 47/3 47324 heads a steel slab train west

A Class 37 heads over the junction towards Leeds with a Speedlink train

Image

A 'Skinhead' Class 31/1 hurries out from Healey Mills with a short coal train

Image

A Class 47 heads east with an empty steel train. The signal ganties are not exact representations of the real things, but is the best I can do with the available infrastructure - unless anyone knows better!

Image

A newly converted 31/4 heads for Hull. The days of the Class 123/124 TransPennine DMUs were dated.

2 of Thornaby's Class 37s head a steel coil train west

47441 hurries a passenger train east as a steel train waits to use the junction

One of the TransPennine units, based at Botanic Gardens, Hull heads to its next stop at Mirfield

Deltic 17 "The Durham Light Infantry" heads west towards Hudderfield. Goodbye ECML, hello Trans Pennine
