Re: Southern Class 455 faulty
They are old reskins that worked fine with older versions of Trainz , Modern versions have vastly tightened up the error checking processes .
This is the simple way to fix it and apologies if you already know how to do it .
It's a good learning process for users not familiar with the basics of editing config files .
To keep it simple :
start off by just opening one of the faulty items for editing
In content manager : Right click on the entry , Select open , Select show in explorer . (This is applicable to TRS2019-22 )
In the newly opened window Double click on the "config.txt" file notepad file to open it
Scan down the entries and find the "speedlimit" entry (This is from the 455 DTSO and I've doubled the font size on here to highlight it) :
category-class "PA"
category-region "GB;UK"
category-era "1980s;1990s;2000s;2010s"
interior <kuid:-10:172>
kind "traincar"
engine 1
mass 29500
author "Nexusdj"
contact-email "xxxxx"
contact-website "none"
description "Southern class 455/8 "
speedlimit 75
enginespec <kuid2:51536:931599:1>
enginesound <kuid53001>
hornsound <kuid2:190624:54426:1>
trainz-build 2.9
Delete the speedlimit line including the 75 (BUT NOTHING ELSE !)
(No need to close the space up either as content manager will do that automatically when you submit it)
Save the config , close it .
Close the editing folder window
In Content manager right click on the "open for edit" Southern 455 entry and select "Submit edits"
It may remain showing faulty , Just double click on the entry which brings up the "Asset details" window and it should clear the item showing faulty .
If okay then repeat for the other 2 .
If it's still faulty after that then the process has gone wrong somewhere . You'll need to reinstall the original cdp file .
Remember that if installing over the faulty modified version then you will need to right click on the entry in content manager that will now be showing "open for edit" and select "Submit edits".
Failure to do this will result in the config.txt notepad file showing as a .chump file instead that can't be opened !!
Any errors remaining that are flagged in yellow you can mostly ignore (for now)
Eventually they'll tighten up the error checking to a point where most of the early content will be unfixable unless it can be repaired at source !!

High visibility pixels must be worn when on or about the line !!
