Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
Strange one this.
I have a couple of very large routes in 06 which I still use. The main use local rolling stock being the BR Class 105's and GWR AEC Railcars. These have worked faultless for years now until sunday.
I downloaded the only unit I hadn't got the GWR AEC Parcels unit, within minutes all the AEC's showed faults, together with the class 105's, gresley coaches and Pullmans.
When it downloaded it brought with it the superceded AJS Superscrift Code Library 2:122285:508:16, which then overwrote all the original 122285:508 files installed on the items. as well the original superscript file was 122285:508 was deleted by the cmp.
Even I am aware the 2:122285:508:16 is a 2009+ item and won't work in 2006.
None of these items of rolling stock will appear or work properly, if you try to place them in surveyor the faulty script screen pops up requesting correct 122285:508 file. I have tried changing the config's to :16 but the items won't accept it.
I have tried going direct to the DLS and finding the correct AJS superscripts and trying to download direct, but it won't download them as it tells me they have been updated/superceded.
Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm not fully sure, but I would suggest deleting the Superscript that you installed with the latest Parcels AEC, then changing the superscript kuid on the parcels AEC to the one which is in current use with all your other 'superscript' assets.

Re: Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
Thanks for that.
Have tried this and doesn't make any difference, keeps defaulting back to 2:122285:508:16.
Tried changing config file of above to build 2.4, some of the stock will appear; but comes up with fault messages (stack dump etc). The class 105's flatly refuse to appear, yet the cmp now shows no faults for any of Andi06's items.
Have spent over two hours today trying to fathom this, just about had enough now.
If N3V hadn't obsoleted the previous script files this wouldn't be happening.

Re: Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
The only option I can think of is to ask andi06 on the trainz forum if he can send you the .cdp file of the old version (if he still has it). Or alternatively, if you can find someone who has the old version they could send you the file - if you are to do this you must obtain permission from andi06 first for this to occur.

Was kind of thinking this might be the only option. The only thing is I thought N3V had stopped supporting 2006.

have you tried changing config file of above to build 2.4 and change it to 2:122285:508:17 at the end of the kuid put the 17 so it will think its been updated again, and see if that works

Re: Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
Delete the update and the original should be reinstated? assume that works in 2006's Content manager. Once done that, open original for edit copy to desktop change kuid to the updated kuid, delete the one you have open in CM and import the folder on the desktop. that way you won't get bothered with it again, if you really want to avoid the update happening again give it a version number of kuid:*********:********:127 has to be done outside of the edit folder or it will chuck a wrong kuid error message at you.
This works for restoring the original working version for screwed up updates in 2009 upwards, hopefully it should work in 2006 as well.

Cheers Greeni and Clam.
Will give these ideas a try and see what happens.
Many thanks. Chris A

Re: Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
Hi Greeni and Clam.
Further to this. Tried Greeni's idea, cmp threw a wobbly.
Before I tried Clams I did a database check and discovered there are 94 items of rolling stock affected by this update. Will try the mod clam suggested and take it from there.
Have thought of one or two other ideas that might work, but they are a bit last resort(ish).
I have had an idea, apart from Andi's update there is another file common to all the items triggering the new update requirement; if I can find it and modify it back then we might be getting somewhere.

Re: Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
Clam and Greeni further to this problem.
Tried Clams idea and it sort of worked. Some content worked ok and some didn't.
Then about a week later downloaded content from TPR site (reworked 2010 to 2006 SR Emu's) and fault returned with a vengence. So a bit fed up left 2006 for a while to concentrate on work in 2010.
Last week decided to have a go at the problem full blast, unsure if it could have been the TPR stuff contacted the creator/modifier Robin Hoods. His first idea was the same as clams, it cleared all the yellow and red fault flags; but when in surveyor and stock placed on track message came up missing or corrupt script files.
Second idea was put into place:
Delete all superscript files from cmp, then go into trainz files and delete assets.tdx and bku; back into trainz and content manager and leave it for about 20 mins to do a purge/full data base repair.
Once finished DBR, dowloaded clean superscript file :13 from TPR (as i have no FCT at the minute) and once installed commited said file. Looked up various assets to check, no markers or faulty flags showed.
Then into surveyor and routes, placed all the various types of stock and success all placed perfect and no faults.
Took a while but well worth the wait.

Re: Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
There was a post on the N3V forum (can't remember exactly where), I copied the solution given ......
...... Haven't tried it myself yet, so not sure if it does work.Pullmans, Gresley tourist & the Gresley 61'6 coaches are only 2.4.
if you open the scripts for each asset that aren't working, all
the assets with a 2.4 trainz build, and change ...............
class Superstub isclass Locomotive {
to read:
class Superstub isclass Vehicle {
they will all work again.

Re: Andi06's content all damaged/non working.
Hi Blackwatch,
I remember seeing and viewing it and I am 99.9999% sure it referred to the older stock working in TS12, did try it for a fix at the time and it red flagged immediately. I seem to think it was something to do with different scripting in 2006 and 12.
