ROUTE CREATORS: How to remove passengers <kuid:-3:11061>
ROUTE CREATORS: How to remove passengers <kuid:-3:11061>
A new passenger asset <kuid:-3:11061> has been downloaded by some users. Although we are not quite sure where this originated from, the problem it creates is that it obsoletes the standard TS12 built in passenger asset <kuid:-3:11060>. This new asset is not available on the DLS, so if you upload a route and session with passenger interactive stations, these will be disabled for everyone else without that asset and there will be no passengers on their downloaded routes, possible broken sessions and script errors appearing. Downloaders will see an unknown asset and won't be able to download it from the DLS.
Therefore, please note the following process if you are thinking of creating a route to upload and share with others on the DLS and you have passenger asset <kuid:-3:11061> installed and want to remove it.
If you have not started the route and have <kuid:-3:11061> installed:
Locate that asset in CMP, open it for edit and remove the reference to <kuid:-3:11060> in the obsolete-table. Then save the config and commit the asset.
If you have started a new route and have <kuid:-3:11061> installed the process is more complex as the route and session will be using that asset as the default.
Firstly, locate asset <kuid:-3:11061> in CMP. Open it for edit and remove the reference to <kuid:-3:11060> in the obsolete-table.
Then copy the contents of the asset out to a new folder somewhere else on your pc for later reinstatement.
Commit or revert the asset.
Only then delete <kuid:-3:11061> in CMP.
Start Trainz, open the route in surveyor you are thinking of uploading to the DLS, you will note all the passengers will have disappeared on the stations.
Delete missing assets.
You then need to select every station one by one- open options by clicking ?
- if it is an AJS station click the Platform 1 tab, change the Initial count from 10 to 5. Close the window and you will see the passengers will immediately re-appear. What this does is reset the station to look for the passenger asset listed in it's config. You can then repeat the process and change your initial passengers back to 10 or whatever you had them set at.
- if it is a simpler scripted station click ? and a box will appear allowing you to reset the Initial number of passengers as above.
As stated you must repeat this process with every station on the route until all the passengers re-appear.
If you have used the instant load command with any rolling stock then you need to delete that rolling stock in surveyor and replace it, making sure that any associated couple to commands that are affected are changed to suit the new vehicle number.
Then save your route and session as- which is a safety measure in case anything goes wrong, you still have the original. This allows you to compare if this process has been successful for you, as you will see one route with and one without the passengers.
At this point, if you like you can reinstate the passenger asset <kuid:-3:11061> which you have saved somewhere else on your pc. Double check to make sure the obsolete-table is blank in the config first though. You may want to do this otherwise other routes you have been using may be looking for that missing asset. In CMP Import content, point to that folder and it's done.
Important note: This is only relevant while passenger asset <kuid:-3:11061> is not freely available. If N3V upload this passenger asset to the DLS or build it into a future version of Trainz that will hopefully sort the problem.
As a footnote, I think this situation has happened before as our TS12 built in passenger asset <kuid:-3:11060> obsoletes a presumably earlier version <kuid:-3:10060>!!!
Hope that helps.

That's a problem some of us seem to be having - if installed from a add-on, it seems to be built in.

Ah right it comes with the Duchess add-on does it.

Yes Chris has the Duchess add-on as well.Warbo40 wrote:Ah right it comes with the Duchess add-on does it.
This is turning into a huge problem for us route builders. Those of us without add-ons are fine but anyone with add-ons needs to change that kuid as stated or clearly state that users must purchase additional content from N3V to get their route to work.

Any comment from N3V as to why this is the case?

Re: ROUTE CREATORS: How to remove passengers <kuid:-3:11061>
I have finally solved the problem and an updated version of my route is now on the DLS that doesn't use -3:11061.
Here is a guide on how to eliminate the asset if you have it built in (hopefully I have remembered this correctly):
As said this asset if proving extremely difficult and may require different steps on other installations, depending on how -3:11061 has manifested itself into the game.
Hope this helps.
Here is a guide on how to eliminate the asset if you have it built in (hopefully I have remembered this correctly):
- Open up CMP and locate the asset -3:11061
- Open in explorer and delete the reference to -3:11060 in the obsolete table.
- Commit the asset (this will show up a number of errors)
- Make sure you have the Images2TGA program installed then then right click and open with... Images2TGA. This will separate the .TEXTURE files into .txt and .tga files.
- Delete all remaining .TEXTURE files.
- Commit asset and disable it
- Look in the dependencies for your route and any assets that reference -3:11060 will say that it is 'unknown location' despite being installed (ignore rolling stock). Open assets up in CCP and refresh all the boxes that say -3:11060 so they say 'passengers'.
- Commit assets
- Open route and delete missing dependencies
- You then need to select every station one by one- open options by clicking ? Passengers may not have necessarily disappeared from station.
- Repeat this process with every station on the route.
- If you have used the instant load command with any rolling stock then you need to delete that rolling stock in surveyor and replace it, making sure that any associated couple to commands that are affected are changed to suit the new vehicle number.
- Then save your route and session as- which is a safety measure in case anything goes wrong, you still have the original. This allows you to compare if this process has been successful for you, as you will see one route with and one without the passengers.
- Re-enable the passenger asset <kuid:-3:11061>. Double check to make sure the obsolete-table is blank in the config first though. You may want to do this otherwise other routes you have been using may be looking for that missing asset
- Finally run an extended database repair as that will fix any other items that are looking for -3:11060
As said this asset if proving extremely difficult and may require different steps on other installations, depending on how -3:11061 has manifested itself into the game.
Hope this helps.

Re: ROUTE CREATORS: How to remove passengers <kuid:-3:11061>
I have recently gone from build 49933 to 61388 which builds in -3:11061 making -3:11060 obsolete.
In attempting to follow the instructions above, I can't get past stage 3 because CMP will not let me commit the edited built in asset.
Furthermore I have no idea what I'm meant to be opening in stage 4.
Any ideas?
Paul

When you try to commit the altered asset at stage 3, you should get a box like this ............paulper wrote:I have recently gone from build 49933 to 61388 which builds in -3:11061 making -3:11060 obsolete.

Re: ROUTE CREATORS: How to remove passengers <kuid:-3:11061>
blackwatch13 - there is one problem with doing that. Look at the icon for the asset - it has a circle with a cross through it. If someone tries to commit one of these assets, there's a good chance it will fail to commit with a 'you do not have permission' error.

You are correct Shane
We will just have to hope Class172 returns & tells us how he achieved the 'commit'

It may be possible if the edit is made outside Trainz and re-imported.

Thanks for the responses so far.
I now understand the Open With part, but unfortunately still cannot commit the edited asset as per part 3 of the above instructions.
Hopefully someone can clarify how you can successfully edit and commit a built-in asset?

Re: ROUTE CREATORS: How to remove passengers <kuid:-3:11061>
Probably did it in 49922, works there if you were unfortunate enough to acquire it there, but it doesn't work in 61388.
Simpler solution is to edit 11060 and make your own 11061, less the obsolete table for builds lower than TS12 SP1, as it doesn't look like N3V are going to oblige and put the flipping thing on the DLS, they added it to SP1 as a builtin instead....................... .
