What do we need more of?
Re: What do we need more of?
Here's what I've produced over the past couple days: https://dw9trainz.blogspot.com/2020/06/ ... 60620.html They should be on the DLS soon too.

I think we might also need loco's which have their roof lifted and prime mover lifted/ready to be lifted. In other words: locomotives that are under maintenance (either as rolling stock, scenery or trackside object I'd say).
I've been searching for some of those and I'm not really good with 3d modeling

As much as that's a good idea, from a 3D modellers perspective, that's not the easiest thing to do, making a reasonable representation of all the engine room gubbins, takes quite some time and a lot of polys for something rather niche.RinseDC wrote:I think we might also need loco's which have their roof lifted and prime mover lifted/ready to be lifted. I'd be interested in these assets, but tend to only use DLS assets. Look forward to these appearing on the DLS soon.
Best regards,
Paul

I think we might need some trackside equipment for TPO's because there are some TPO cars. If they don't exist yet atleast, otherwise: can anyone tell me how I can find them because?

Re: What do we need more of?
Im guessing when you say 'trackside equipment' you mean things like mailbag collectors. The TPO cars available for train sim as far as im aware, none of them have some thing like this....RinseDC wrote:I think we might need some trackside equipment for TPO's because there are some TPO cars. But on the http://rail-sim.co.uk/ website, they have 2 different sized mail platforms which load BRUTE trolleys into the TPO vans. I think if anyone made some trackside objects for mail trains, they would only be useful if someone also made a Mk1 with a mailbag catcher on the side.
Thanks,
Finn

If you model the steam era there are working TPO coaches on the DLS by "edh6" including scripted lineside apparatus :
Travelling Post Office Lineside Apparatus : KUID2:403746:547:2
TPO lineside apparatus. Interacts with correctly scripted vehicles to deploy exchange gear.
Search "TPO" under the same author .
All showing as Trainz version TS12 .

Re: What do we need more of?
How have I only just stumbled across this gold mine of content! Thank you so much for putting in so much effort to create these brilliant assets. They will work perfectly on my routedanwho9 wrote:Here's what I've produced over the past couple days: https://dw9trainz.blogspot.com/2020/06/ ... 60620.html They should be on the DLS soon too.
I'm in a creative streak right now thanks to all the spare time I have because of covid, so i'll be willing to make a list of content to create if anybody has any more suggestions.
I have several british terminus station assets such as platforms, arches and giant canopies ready to release as soon as I try to shrink their file sizes slightly and get them on to the DLS.

Re: What do we need more of?
Personally I would like to see more stations and accessories that fit the newly-electrified WCML around the 1960s. Although I understand that's a small niche - people tend to favor full-on steam era or full-on BR Rail Blue era, with little regard for inbetween.
I'd made a station sign and that's about as far as I got. There a lot of tiny details trackside that, when tediously placed around the tracks and yards, really make routes look realistic.
