I have been given a 2006 version of Trainz but I am unable to run the simulator because whenever I try to run the software I get the message that I need to enter my password.
How do I do this?
Also I do not have a password, how do I set one up?

You will need to register here: https://www.auran.com/planetauran/register.php
Then once logged in click on Serial Number on the left menu and enter your Trainz serial number.
Although I don't think you would be able to download from the DLS as TRS2006 has been unsupported since 2010. More info can be found at: http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/inde ... cle_Policy

Also if it's second hand it may have been registered and now is no good unless you know the original owner to give you the information to change it all over to you.

Perhaps it is because it is second hand, previous owner has no idea what his password was!

I think you can download a free version of TS2009 from N3V website, if you subscribe to the Newsletter. Comes with a month free download station ticket as well....
